Chef Josie is a classically trained bohemian chef, global adventurist, TV and radio personality, entrepreneur, former women's pro football player, social activist, and lifestyle ambassador. 

Spent 4 seasons as a contestant on Bravo's "Top Chef".  Chef Josie connects with people through her genuine smile, good food, and infectious laugh. 

Six years ago, Chef Josie and her wife, Marcy Miller, opened up a restaurant in Wilton Manors, FL called Bubbles and Pearls.  Josie has contributed to the Wilton Manors community and helped elevate this island city, with one of the largest LGBTQ+ populations in the country, to new heights, whether as a small business owner, as a practitioner, and a teacher of mindfulness, or through her run for mayor last year.

Our goal with the show is to introduce you to people and ideas that are going to motivate you to pursue your dreams and empower you to believe in yourself.

My name is Alexandria Friedlander and I’m here to introduce you to remarkable people who have helped shift the world we live in today.

Today’s guest is Mike from GoGayMiami.

Mike manages social media platforms for the MDGLCC (Miami Dade Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce) and the Miami Beach LGBT Visitor Center.

Today’s guest is Dr. Marilyn Volker, sexuality educator for the past thirty seven (37) years, is a Diplomat of the American Board of Sexology and an Associate Fellow of The American Academy of Clinical Sexologists.  Dr. Volker helped to establish the Health Crisis Network, Florida’s first community-based AIDS project and has educated thousands over the past 20 years about HIV/AIDS nationwide.

Dr. Volker also helped to establish the first gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender youth group in Miami-Dade County in 1975, now known as Pridelines.  Pridelines is a nonprofit organization with the mission to support, educate and empower South Florida’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth and community in safe and diverse spaces to promote dialogue, wellness, and to foster social change.

Dr. Volker trains counselors to become sex therapists through the Florida Post-Graduate Sex Therapy Training Institute and sits on doctoral committees for The Joint Doctoral Program in Clinical Sexology for Sex Therapists.  Hosted by Alexandria Friedlander Interviewed, Dr. Marilyn Volker

As a celebrity DJ, Citizen Jane has also dropped her beats in private events for Kim Kardashian, Stella McCartney, Patricia Velasquez, Gwen Stefani and Kat VonD to name a few and has shared stage billing with AfroJack, Bebe Rexha, Christina Perry, Crystal Waters, Deborah Cox, Cece Peniston, Becky G, J Balvin, Taylor Swift, and Selena Gomez.  Her love of music extends beyond her high energy DJ beats that has led her to become one of the most in demand International Singer/Songwriter/DJ/Producers on the DJ scene of today.

Dr. Erica Jayne Friedman is the Associate Director at FIU, bringing from New York over 10 years of higher education experience. Her vision is to empower students to take the lead in administering Pride Center campus events. She hopes to evolve the culture at FIU through advocacy and education to establish our campus as the most supportive and affirming university for LGBTQIA+ students in Florida.
