2020 was the year of masks, sanitiser and toilet paper. But it was also a really successful year for the Proud Crowd. Country Road, Take me home, to a place, where I....feel like I don't belong? For LGBTQ+ people living in a small country or regional town can be isolating and challenging as they work through trying to find a sense of community and acceptance. Join us as we talk to John Tatton from BIGW in Canberra. John will share with us his personal story of being LGBTQ+ growing up in a regional town, and supporting others in doing the same.

The 1st of December marks World AIDS Day. You may think that the AIDS Epidemic was solved in the 80's, however HIV and AIDS are still a very real issue today, and not just in third world countries. Join us as we speak with Ruan Uys from the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation to discuss some of the issues still surrounding people living with HIV, and how Woolworths is going to be supporting World AIDS Day this year.

November 20th marks Transgender Day of Remembrance which is a day to honour the memory of the lives lost through anti-transgender violence. Laura Merraine, DC Support Technician based in our Perth Distribution Centre joins us to talk about some of the challenges Transgender people, particularly Transgender Women, still face in the world today.

This year in 2020 we are recognising and celebrating NAIDOC week from the 8th -15th November. We thought we would take the time to embrace the spirit of NAIDOC week and share with you some of our learnings of First Nations history, in particular deep diving into learning more about Queer First Nations culture, answering the question, Who are Brotherboys and Sistergirls?

In 2018 homosexuality was decriminialised in India. Kshitija Deshmukh, Senior Commerical and Delivery Manager from Woolorths International, grew up in India identifying as a Bisexual Woman whilst being LGBTQ+ was still outlawed. Join us as we talk to her about her personal journey and what it is like now being a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse LGBTQ+ person in Australia.

Imagine being forced to flee your home country due to fear of being persecuted simply for loving someone. This is a reality for many LGBTQ+ and Intersex Refugees who find themselves wanting to call Australia home. Join us as we speak with Tina Dixson from the first Australian organisation to work exclusively on the issues of LGBTIQ+ forced displacement called the Forcibly Displaced People Network. Tina speaks from the view of being an LGBTQ+ Refugee herself, with her first job in Australia being at Woolworths Metro.
