  • Are there really two Americas or just an alternating theme? (ep 336)
Are there two Americas or is the United States alternating between open and closed system characteristics? We listen to some information from  Elephant in the room podcast about the factors that has led to the Democrats and Republicans having a serious gap between their ideologies. We discuss how this might be an issue with openness, a personality and group characteristic, between the two parties. We touch on the fact that while the Democrats are more open, the Republicans are more conscientious. Some problems are more favorably addressed by one or the other.

  • How to Handle a Hurricane! (ep 335)
Since we have spent our lives in Gulf coast states we have some recommendations concerning hurricanes:
    • Be ready to take an “evacucation” between July and September.
    • Gasoline and water are important, even if there is corporate greed.
    • Get rid of trees that could fall in your home’s living area.
    • The government will not have enough resources to help you in time.

  • Are libertarians uncompromising? (ep 334)
We discuss the loss I have a libertarian congressman Thomas Massie. Are libertarians prone to stick to their ideals in light of compromising and consensus? What does it say about the current situation for libertarians to get their ideas across and live to fight another day? We also discussed redistricting and how it reflects on the balancing out affirmative action and majority rule. Has affirmative action led to reverse discrimination?

  • Greg Louganis PLUS (ep 333)
Julie did not seem to be impressed with my personal Gregg Louganis story. But at least I enjoyed it, and so did my high school buddies.

So the real topic was the dilemma with deception and theft. Apparently it is prevalent in a large percentage of our population. This seems like a difficulty when we hope to have an open and free marketplace.

  • Assassination Culture? (ep 332)
Are we actually in an assassination culture? What factors have contributed to the current culture where radicalized individuals justify murder and other types of political violence. We discussed some of these possible issues in light of the recent assassination attempt and relate to libertarian values.

  • Hate Speech! (ep 331)
OK, so the 1969 Supreme Court decision about free speech was very nice. The problem is that in today’s world it simply is not enough.

That decision about illegal speech was good, and should continue. But speech that invites violence should be called out socially. In other words, criticize people that use terms like Nazi or Hitler or the N-word. People have been getting away with this kind of talk as if it is free speech. Yes, but It is inappropriate free speech. And then maybe we can use the same kind of standards for judging the activities of other countries.

  • The Psychology of the Democrats (ep 330)
Both parties, but especially the Democrats, are defaulting to team competition in their quest to contribute. We talk about large social systems moving between loose and tight, open and closed. Effective systems vary these conditions based on the environment. The United States needs both the left, which is concerned with affiliation/care and the right which is concerned with achievement and conscientiousness. And effective system needs to act like a water faucet between these two, opening and closing based on the particular problem to be solved. We talk about the Virginia redistricting. And,We listen to Victor Hanson and Rahm Emanuel on the problems with the Democrats.

  • Trump Supporters’ Extremes! (ep 329)
All of this talk about war, ice funding, border, and terrorists is getting boring! Could this be about left or right maintaining power in the United States, and Netanyahu‘s clan maintaining power in Israel?

Our only response is to seek the truth, vote for the less bad candidate, and hold the winner accountable to achieve goals we agree with!

  • Libertarianism and Mental Health: 6 Overlapping Factors (ep 328)
In this episode of Libertarians Talk Psychology, we explore the powerful connection between libertarian philosophy and mental health. Can personal freedom, responsibility, and voluntary interaction actually improve psychological well-being?

We break down 6 key overlapping factors between libertarianism and psychotherapy principles—covering topics like autonomy, accountability, emotional resilience, and the importance of voluntary relationships.

We also take a hard look at modern culture and ask a difficult question:
Is society declining in positive mental health—and why?

Drawing from psychotherapy basics and philosophical insight, this episode connects the dots between mental health struggles, cultural shifts, and the role of individual liberty.

If you're interested in psychology, philosophy, mental resilience, and cultural analysis, this episode will challenge your thinking and offer a fresh perspective.

  • The Hidden Benefits of Modern Warfare! (ep 327)
It helps to expose the exaggerations from both political sides.  The mainstream media started being exposed with the internet and with “fake news” Trump.  But the war “reporting” makes the audience go further toward alternative media.

    2.  It is exposing both the power and the irrelevance of the sophisticated military.  In other words, it is not enough.

    3.  It reveals, again, that a country’s population does not automatically cheer for the invading “saviors”.

    4.  Hopefully, the definitions for sovereign nations and proxies will be clarified when this goes further.
