  • Ep.18, Out of the Bubble. with Kate Hardcastle MBE (aka the customer whisperer).

Welcome back to another dose of inspiration and this weeks’ guest has such a long list of achievements that it’s hard to know where to start. This week we have the pleasure of talking with the go to television expert on consumer and retail, Kate Hardcastle MBE, otherwise known as the customer whisperer.

We find out what drives Kate in business, where here passion to give back through her business and all her charity work comes from. Her love for music and singing with ForFunkSakeBand and all the great work Kate does with the Positive Image charity.

Favourite song that motivates you? That's just too hard to choose as I love so many different genres of music from Stevie Wonder to musicals.

So I chose to add Stevie Wonder - 'I Wish' for Kate as I'm a huge Stevie fan too.

A book that’s inspired you? Anything by Michael Gladwell (Blink, The Power of Thinking,  Talking to Strangers, David & Goliath).

Who inspires you? My children, everything you do is for them, I want to do my part to make the world better for them. I am inspired by people that want to collaborate with others. “I prefer to build bridges not thrones”. Love this quote from Kate to finish on.

  • Preview Ep.14, with Tricia Stewart, Miss.October Calendar Girl.

Sneaky peek at Episode 2 with a bumper edition podcast full of inspiring women.  My first guest really epitomises what Out of the Bubble podcast is all about. I am beyond excited to welcome Tricia Stewart, the driving force behind the alternative WI calendar back in 1999, which went on to become a global phenomenon and to date has raised over £5 million for the Bloodwise charity.  You may have bought the calendar, watched the Calendar Girls film where Helen Mirren plays Tricia or seen the stage version or musical but now it's time to meet the lady behind it all.

As if that's not enough inspiration we then get to go behind the scenes from this years MacMillan Charity fashion show in Ilkley, which I have volunteered in for the last ten years. This event has raised literally tens of thousands to date and I genuinely love meeting up with all the volunteers each year. I thought it would be fun to hear from some of the brave women that take part each year to find out why they said yes and what they get out of it
