We’re four games into this brutal stretch of games against playoff-caliber opponents, and the Philadelphia 76ers have done … decent. They’re 4-0 after defeating Oklahoma City, Brooklyn, the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Dallas Mavericks. There is a sense of unease around David Early, though. It’s warranted as a result of late blown leads to the Nets and Clippers, so Dave joins host Adio Royster to talk about what bothers him about the wins (and “moral defeats”) as Dave called them in his column last week.
Dave’s column: https://www.libertyballers.com/2021/4/15/22385890/sixers-beat-nets-in-divisional-showdown-and-remain-in-first-place-but-it-felt-like-a-moral-defeat

This week on The Gastroenteritis Blues, Emily, Dan and Steve discuss the Sixers' big win over the LA Clippers. They try to predict the rotation guys who are due for heavy minutes in the postseason, and they discuss recent interviews from Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons as they campaign for their respective award chases.
THEN!
Jeopardy! champion and Philadelphia native Brad Rutter joins the show to tell us all about what it’s like to be a Jeopardy! GOAT. Brad discusses what it was like appearing on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, how he prepares for the trivia he needs to know on the show, his friendship with the late, great Alex Trebek, and what it’s like hosting The Chase on ABC. Brad also tells the gang about his Philly sports fandom, his thoughts during the Process years, and which all-time Sixer he thinks would be best on the show.
The Chase returns for season 2 on ABC on Sunday, June 6th.

Dan and Sean are first joined by Lucas Kaplan of The Nets Republic to react to LaMarcus Aldridge's retirement and ponder just how much we can even know about a potential Sixers vs Nets playoff matchup, then are joined by Noah of the NBA Underground to dissect the Sixers-Clippers matchup on deck.

The Gastroenteritis Blues is finally whole again, as Emily (now Connell) re-joins the podcast for another live episode on the Locker Room app. This week, Dan, Emily and Steve discuss the Sixers' win over the Brooklyn Nets. What can be learned from a win over BK without Harden and Durant? Was the fourth quarter troublesome from a Sixers perspective? Who would the hosts most like to avoid in the playoffs outside of Brooklyn and Milwaukee?
They also get into some Defensive Player of the Year talk, some George Hill prognosticating, and preview tomorrow's game versus the LA Clippers. Enjoy!

The gauntlet (as named by today’s podcast guest, Steve Lipman) is upon us, Sixers fans!
The Philadelphia 76ers have a bevy of litmus tests coming over the next several games. Seven of which are nationally televised against playoff teams. Four of them are at home. Three are on the road, and this late in the season is where some of those final feelings about the team are made. Steve and host Adio Royster get you ready for this stretch of games coming up and how they feel about the Sixers’ chances against them.
Steve’s column:

Steve and Dan are holding down the Gastroenteritis Blues one last time without Emily. The guys discuss the Sixers' up-and-down weekend, and what Joel Embiid's recent comments about Ben Simmons mean in the larger context of this season. Plus, they discuss what Anthony Tolliver will bring to the team (nothing, according to Doc Rivers), and what the playoff rotation might look like. Finally, they take turns quizzing each other on Sixers trivia before predicting the wins and losses for the week ahead. Enjoy!

The Gastro Blues was once again live on Locker Room as Steve and Dan previewed the Sixers-Pelicans game while watching Emily get married. Pretty normal day.
Also discussed: Who should guard Zion when Ben rests? Should Matisse make an All-Defense team? Will the Sixers sign a buyout guy? Where do Embiid and Simmons rank amongst other star duos in the league in terms of net rating? Also a review of the Sixers win over the Celtics.
All of our heartfelt congratulations to Emily and Geordie.

Following the Sixers 106-96 win over the Boston Celtics, Dan and Sean relish in Philly's domination of the season series, sing Joel Embiid's praises in the debut of two brand new recurring segments and finish by discussing whether Matisse Thybulle deserves consideration for one of the All-Defense teams despite being a bench player.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, here is an extremely special bonus episode of The Gastroenteritis Blues featuring none other than Sixers rookie forward “BBall” Paul Reed. Paul tells Steve and Dan (with Emily sadly absent due to wedding preparations) all about what his rookie season has been like.
Other topics discussed: Paul’s unique, quick connection with Philadelphia fans, his journey “out the mud,” how is nickname came to be, what the chemistry within the Sixers is like, and lots, lots more. Listen for a special speed round where Paul tells us his favorite food, favorite movie, and what he’d be doing if he wasn’t a basketball player. Enjoy!
