The NFL season is over, so it’s time to push the throttle on NBA action -- if you haven’t had the lever at full since the season started, that is. Your Philadelphia 76ers are 17-7 and are a game and a half up on the Milwaukee Bucks, but Steve Lipman asks the following: “Do the Sixers have enough?” Steve discusses the possibility of bringing Philadelphia native Kyle Lowry home from Toronto first before getting into a conversation about how the NBA has handled Covid this season and the asinine thought (Adio’s opinion) about having an All-Star game. The duo discusses all of this … and some Bachelor talk -- because The Gastroenteritis Blues can’t have all the fun.

It’s an extremely special week on The Gastroenteritis Blues, as Steve, Dan and Emily welcome special guest Zac Clark onto the podcast. You may know Zac from how he met his fiancee, Tayshia, on the most recent season of The Bachelorette on ABC. Zac is also the co-founder of Release Recovery and the Release Recovery Foundation. Above all, Zac is a giant Sixers and Philadelphia sports fan. Zac talks all about his lifelong fanhood, going to games at The Vet and The Linc, his favorite Sixers, and his current thoughts on the state of all 4 Philly sports teams. Finally, Zac fills us in on how he founded Release Recovery and how the foundation works.
AFTERWARD: Dan, Emily and Steve get together to discuss the Sixers’ 2-1 week, listen to Dan play a new instrument and celebrate his birthday. Dan’s girlfriend, Andrea, also joins the pod briefly as a special guest. The hosts discuss Embiid’s injury scare, the bad Portland loss, and how the Sixers might stack up against a full-strength Brooklyn team. Enjoy!

In the pod Dave Early interviews ESPN Insider, writer, reporter, host of the ESPN Daily Podcast, frequent quest or host on PTI, Highly Questionable, Around the Horn on ESPN.
They get into: What bets did he place on the Superbowl, is our society headed for a "doink" economy?
Who is the MVP today, is it Embiid?
At one point Pablo says: “Guess whose over there? Joel fucking Embiid…. I’m trying to rub the Sixers success in the present into as many faces as possible….” And it’s glorious. He even works mashed potatoes and offers some half drank milk carton to us Process day 1’s. Generous, if gross.
If Jeff Van Gundy still angry Pablo isn’t a doctor?
How did Pablo convince Sam Hinkie to meet and talk to him when so few others could? What’s unique about Sam’s mind?
If Pablo ran the Knicks would he fire Leon Rose and hire Hinkie?
What did Sam Hinkie reveal he dreams about?
Is an All-Star Game this season a bad idea with 20 of the best players in the world in one perhaps at risk-location?
How will history look back on us for enjoying the NBA right now as we we learn more and more about this Pandemic?
Is outdoor NBA feasible in the future?
What made Pablo say this: “Those Sixers, they care about title contention so much more than the Jeanie Buss’
and all of the other owners and GMs who side-eyed them as [The Process] was happening.”
What does Pablo think of Doc Rivers?
Tobias Harris.
Somehow there is a Joel Embiid having an orgy basketball metaphor that organically arises and Pablo says “yes it would be the Caligula of the NBA.”
How would he woo a free agent if Daryl Morey hired him to personally make it happen? What’s his Mina Kimes’ Etch A Sketch talent?
Would he have traded Ben for Harden? How about Ben for Beal? What would he offer for Zach LaVine?

Your Philadelphia 76ers are 15-6. They are #1 in the Eastern Conference -- two and a half games ahead of the Brooklyn Nets. Part of the reason is the roster construction. Part of it is the improved and budding partnership/friendship of all-stars Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. Another part is the flaming hot start of Tobias Harris. Tom West wrote two pieces on the latter two points, and he joins host Adio Royster on the podcast to discuss that and more (including how things are going in England with regards to COVID-19 -- since it’s always nice to know that it isn’t just bad here in the United States).
