Very well done. An excellent take on shifters, hunters, politics and mating. It's a world I'm looking forward to visiting again.

Excessive destruction of the language

Verb tenses and number are only abused more by the spelling and total ineptitude with all aspects of the language. A good writer needs total facility and accuracy . I spend more time correcting and rewriting than I should if this were a middle school assignment.

Great MM read

I enjoy a good shifter romance and I enjoy a good MM read. This is the best of both! Being the first book by this author I was amazed at how the author was able to pull me in and never let me go! I finished this the other day and still think about it. I love how the author was script of but not too descriptive and was able to write characters that I was able to relate to and fro script of but not too descriptive and was able to write characters that I was able to fall in love with. I can't wait to dive into the next book.

This story is difficult to review because the plot is good and the writing also good enough to keep me reading; yet the slips in tense kept taking me out of the story, (it's difficult to write in present tense) along with sentences like this "Your lack of respect for the Alpha Mate is disrespectful." Thankfully, the latter didn't happen often. There were too many quick pov changes, as well as a lack of contractions that made some of the dialogue stilted. This author needed a decent editor. Still, if a book can hold my attention in spite of these things, there must be something to it.

The lion pride aspect was a refreshing change from wolves, and I find the lion a wonderful shifter animal, while I have more difficulty with some other animals. There's plenty of believable explanation for the shifters. I liked the aspect of the Alpha having an Alpha Mate, and I really enjoy mpreg.

Disappointingly short for a $2.99 book!

Well written with interesting characters. However I feel pretty ripped off. This is a SHORT STORY and it does not say so in the description.

Loved it!!!

If you want to read a historical romance with a forceful hero this is your book. I enjoyed this short story of the knight claiming the heroine. She was not shrinking violet so it added another erotic feel to the story. I just love the love aspect of it and how the hero uses some forceful persuasion to conquer the heroine. Would recommend for anyone that would enjoy reading dub con, forceful, dominant alpha knight out to conquer more than the lands. Heroine was right along with him.

BEWARE SPIOLERS:

I enjoy reading Ms. Kendal's historical forceful romances. I really wish the author would make them full length and gives me the perspective of the male as well. Such as the story for "An Officer's Lady: Sweet, Sexy, and a Little Naughty" by Marie Alexander being the full length novel to the great short "Disciplining Eve: Victorian Domestic Discipline Household Taboo (She Grew Up with the Man of the House Book 1)". To make it clear I love them both, so I am not complaining, but man those full length books give it another dimension and perspective. I would also recommend "Claiming His Ward: Historical Victorian Household Taboo (Older Man of the House Book 1)". Also, can you please make "Claiming Mae" full length as it was teased in the end to "An Officer's Lady". Still waiting anxiously for that one!!!!
