Life is a conversation.
Conversations between you and other people. You and your environment. You and yourself.
How do you talk to yourself? What is your tone when you make a mistake? When you forget something?
We are living in a world of our own making. Our thoughts become our words and our words become our reality.
Think of a time something someone said made you feel something. Sad, happy, excited, anxious.
Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words plant seeds.
Think of your mind as soil.
If certain words are allowed to penetrate your mind, they may take root & get watered by different thoughts and mindsets.
It’s much more dangerous than a broken arm, because sometimes you don’t even know it’s happening.
You can’t treat what you don’t acknowledge or even know is there.
Some roots are so deep in your psyche, you don’t even know its affecting you. It’s your new normal. You’re functioning in toxicity.
That toxicity may be engrained in your family that is now your culture.
Do you see how easily a negative thought contributes to toxic behavior?
We have to be much more intentional with our words. That simply means slowing down, and thinking before we speak.
Next time you react to something you or someone else does, ask yourself, “why did I say that?” “Where did that come from?” “Is that what I truly meant?”
This week let’s be impeccable with our word. According to google, Impeccable means in accordance with the highest standards of propriety; faultless.
Be sure to say what you mean and mean what you say.
Until next time remember, Words are Power. Speak Life, Always.
