JULIE POTIKER

Author and mindfulness expert Julie Potiker is an attorney who began her serious study and investigation of mindfulness after graduating from the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program at the University of California, San Diego.

She was trained by Kristin Neff, Christopher Germer and UCSD as a Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher. She went on to study with Rick Hanson, becoming a graduate of his Positive Neuroplasticity Training Professional Course.

Potiker also completed Brené Brown’s Living Brave Semester. Now, she shares these and other mindfulness techniques with the world through her Mindful Methods for Life trainings and her new book: “Life Falls Apart, but You Don’t Have To: Mindful Methods for Staying Calm In the Midst of Chaos.”

She holds a B.G.S. from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from George Washington University.

GEORGE ARAU

Born in Mar 1 1962, in June of 1988 at age of 26 years old I

decide to leave the country of Romania for good! I hide on a 65000 tons vessel

named BACESTI, who’s destination was Venezuela after a few days at sea (Black

Sea) I jumped off in water of Sea of Marmara in Istanbul, Turkey.

After 23 months in Istanbul I was able to get my approval

from INS and travel legally to USA, arriving in New York.

Hours pass by and I was informed that my luggage did not

make it, so I have to continue my next stop to LAX, Los Angeles the “City of

Angels” witch later they were conform that my luggage was stolen in the airport

transit Athens, Greece, so I realize that God has somehow put me to the test,

you want freedom, then you should start from zero, after 2 months when I got my

first check from Marriot company where I start my first job I decide to washed

all my clothes that I came with in USA put the in a plastic bag and I placed

them on the bench at the bus station, Sunset Blvd and Fairfax Avenue next to

Thrifty store ( now Rite Aid ) including my watch and gold ring on top of it,

so somehow to confirm my destiny that I came to USA with nothing and I left

everything behind!

In August 26 2005 my older brother at 46 years old after God

knows how many years of pain of a bad marriage (after over 20 years of marriage

his wife put the divorce and kick him out of the house) he decide to end his

own life and leave me (not knowing) with to many questions unanswered!

I was struggling to understand for years what just happened

and finally after 14 years I made my book/novel dedicated in memory of my

brother and the

reason my wishes are centered on writing this book is that I have been in

silence for so many years about losing him.

I never thought that I could, or would want to, write a book capturing a terrible event interrupting my life. But, I did feel so obligated to break my silence and place my truth into such words, because I believe that maybe someone, somewhere, is wondering why this is all happening to him or her; perhaps someone is in need of a brother or sister, and I hope that person will find solace!

digital imaging technician and camera operator who has earned a

reputation as one of the most knowledgeable, inventive and passionate

technicians in 2D and 3D digital cinema. 

His forward-thinking mindset, combined with a determination to simplify digital cinema technology, has established LA-based Radiant Images as the go-to rental house for filmmakers looking to stretch the boundaries of digital cinema. Mansouri and his team specialize in removing limits and finding solutions, often by designing and building custom rigs and gear – even new cameras – to help cinematographers achieve their vision without compromise.

The ASC is the oldest motion-picture society in the world and is

considered the most highly respected educational, cultural and

professional organization in the film industry. Membership into the ASC

is a “mark of honor and distinction based on merit” and is possible by

invitation only. Associate members are invited to join based on their

significant contributions to the art and craft of motion pictures. Today

the ASC has approximately 360 distinguished members (including the

industry’s most well-known, skilled cinematographers) and 200 associate

members who collectively dedicate their time, expertise and passion to

the ASC mission.

Mansouri was nominated by Vilmos Zsigmond, ASC, and Frederic Goodich,

ASC, who provided the ASC Board of Governors with letters of

recommendation that were then sent out to the entire membership for

final approval.

In his letter of recommendation, Zsigmond, ASC, who won an Academy Award for Close Encounters of the Third Kind,

said that he has worked closely with Mansouri over the years and is

most impressed by his deep knowledge of digital technology.

“Michael was one of the first to experiment with innovative HD and 3D

technology and he went the extra mile by personally demonstrating how

to make best use of his state-of-the-art camera features. He was always

eager to lend advice and help, always knowledgeable and professional in

Michael Daut is an immersive media specialist, working as an independent

writer/producer/director in Los Angeles, CA. He is an award-winning writer,

producer, and director for fulldome videos, theatrical productions, music

videos, live concert videos, commercials, documentaries, corporate videos, and

trade show presentations. He most recently served as the Director of New

Business Development for Mousetrappe, an experience design and production

studio in Burbank. Previously he worked for over 20 years at Evans &

Sutherland, developing a library of shows for the digital fulldome community.

He has a BA in Media

Communications with a video/film emphasis from Webster University, where he

also served as an adjunct professor. He created the world’s first digital

fulldome film for SIGGRAPH, 1999 in Los Angeles, and also helped create the

world’s first digital fulldome transfer of a giant screen film, Africa the

Serengeti in 2007. As a result of this groundbreaking first step, there are now

more than 50 giant screen films that have been converted to digital fulldome.
