  • Thriving, Not Just Surviving with Guest Robert David Hall and Musical Guests Robert David Hall with Judith Stearns Hall and Ken Deifik – Show #417
Thriving, Not Just Surviving with Character Actor Best Known for His Role as Dr. Albert Robbins on CBS’ Series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Disabled Actor Advocate, Guest Robert David Hall and Musical Guest Robert David Hall with Cellist, Judith Stearns Hall, and Ken Deifik, Harmonica Player, on The LIFE CHANGES Show
GUEST: ROBERT DAVID HALL and MUSICAL GUESTS: ROBERT DAVID HALL with JUDITH STEARNS HALL and KEN DEIFIK
    ROBERT DAVID HALL

For the past 16 years, character actor Robert David Hall played quirky coroner Dr. Albert Robbins on the hit CBS series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
For more than six years in the late 70’s and 80’s, he was the daytime voice and music director of KNX-FM, the legendary CBS “mellow-rock” station in Los Angeles.. While working at Columbia Square, newsman Christopher Ames approached Hall about a movie he and his wife were writing. It was Hall’s role as a burn survivor in that film,  Class Action, (with Gene Hackman and Laurence Fishburne) that most closely parallels his own life.
In 1978, an 18-wheel truck struck David’s car and he was severely burned when the car’s gas tank exploded, leading to the amputation of both legs.  Today, he walks comfortably on two prosthetic limbs.
His appearance in Class Action led to film work with Kevin Spacey in The Negotiator and James Spader in Dream Lover.  His many television guest-starring roles include “Brooklyn South,” “Touched By An Angel,” “Highway to Heaven, “LA Law,” “High Incident,” “The Practice,” and “The West Wing.”
In addition to acting, Hall’s passions include music and voice work.  He’s been heard in hundreds of commercials, animated series, and narrations.
In 2011 a CD of his own songs, “Things They Don’t Teach You In School” received praise from music critics and fans- and led to TV performances and an appearance on the Grand Old Opry at the legendary Ryman Auditorium.
A devoted community activist, Hall  is currently on the board of The National Organization on Disability in Washington, D.C.  He served 15 years as the National Chair of the Performers with Disabilities Caucus for both SAG-AFTRA and Actors Equity and has served on SAG’s national board as well.
Hall also spends time speaking to diverse organizations such as the Youth Leadership Forum for Students with Disabilities, The Amputee Coalition of America, and the World Congress for Burn Survivors.
In 2005 and 2008, he addressed the United Nations General Assembly and helped present the Franklin D. Roosevelt ‘Disability Awareness’ Award to the King of Jordan and the Consul General of New Zealand.
In 2010, Hall spoke at the White House for the 20th Anniversary of the “Americans With Disabilities Act,” and was honored to introduce President Obama.
He credits much of his acting success to years of study with Gordon Hunt, Gary Austin, and work in Equity waiver classical theater.
A graduate of UCLA, Robert David Hall is the father of an adult son, Andrew. He and his wife, Judy, live in Los Angeles.

  • Acting Authentically with Guest Diane Adair and Musical Guest Summer Rona on The LIFE CHANGES Show – #413 Pg 2
“Acting Authentically,” with Guest Stage, TV and Film Actress, and Writer, Diane Adair, and Musical Guest, Pop and Soul Singer / Songwriter, Summer Rona on The LIFE CHANGES Show
GUEST: DIANE ADAIR and MUSICAL GUEST: SUMMER RONA
    SUMMER RONA
“Summer Rona is a dynamic performer who has traveled the globe singing and writing Pop & Soul music. Summer creates original music that weaves ambient electronic sounds over old school hip hop beats, ominous timpani’s, and rich harmonies while she delivers powerful, heart felt lyrics with contagious melodies and catchy beats. She pulls you into her real life stories connecting to the human desire to overcome adversity and to celebrate a triumphant life with her sultry vocals ranging from a clear-toned coloratura soprano, to a raw bluesy alto with smooth as butter trills. Summer incorporates her accomplished piano playing skills into her tunes as well her natural vocal ability inspired by her classically trained pianist father and her opera singing mother.
With her curly locks, olive skin and Bohemian funky style she is reminiscent of a young, soulful Teena Marie with some Sade sophistication and Christina Aguilera sass. In touch with her Jewish & French heritage she likes to sing in other languages including Hebrew and French and includes a vast array of worldly instrumentation to expand her ever growing fan base. Summer sets the stage for theatrical performances from epic ballads and haunting melodies to “get up and dance” vintage be-bop pop grooves inspired by The Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Pharell, Timberlake, Sia, Rihanna and Lana Del Rey. Growing up singing Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and MJ songs, Summer is a true vocalist capable of hitting any range and style. Summer performs with a twist of Gaga-esque artistic presence and vision and proves to be a well-rounded artist capable of moving a world wide audience.”
With a passion for life and a drive to connect with people on a deeper level, Summer Rona puts every ounce of her energy into creating and performing music. She hopes to inspire others to express themselves as fully as she does. She is influenced by music that “moves me to tears or makes me dance, from Motown to Classical, if it touches my soul, I love it!” Summer says. Her parents met in a band & brought Summer to every rehearsal & gig as an infant. “I had a mic in my hand before I could stand.” Summer says as she flashes a picture of her in a diaper holding a silver vintage mic to her mouth. Her mother was a beautiful singer and her father was a classically trained pianist who’s sudden death last year caused Summer to question her purpose on this earth. “Serve others with your talents, work hard, love and…DREAM” she says. “Dream as big as you can and never, ever give up! That’s what my dad told me.”
As an accomplished singer and piano player herself, Summer has the sound of experience. She performed a duet with the legendary Jermaine Jackson, singing the hit song, “I’ll Be There”, among other Jackson favorites at Planet Hollywood in Vegas. She had the opportunity to perform at the infamous Hollywood Bowl with Evan Ross opening for Diana Ross to a crowd of 20,000. It was a dream come true for Summer to sing with Stevie Wonder at the House Full of Toys Benefit Concert as part of the International Colors of Love Choir in December 2011 at The Nokia Theatre. Summer also wrote and produced a house track for Michael Costello that played for thousands at the NYC Lincoln Center for the Project Runway Finale Show! You can hear her voice on the radio, the American Idol video game, television shows & commercials, jingles,

  • The Politics of Love with Guest Paul E. Amori and Musical Guests Ganda Boys on The LIFE CHANGES Show – #412 Pg2
“The Politics of Love,” with Guest, Founder of the Love Party, Paul E. Amori, who is also running for Mayor of Los Angeles; and Musical Guests, Stars of the BBC-TV Drama Series, “Moses Jones” and “Peak Practice,” Ganda Boys, UKbased Ugandan Singers Denis Mugagga and Dan Sewagudde, (Formerly of DaTwinz fame), on The LIFE CHANGES Show
GUEST: PAUL E. AMORI and MUSICAL GUESTS: GANDA BOYS, DENIS MUGAGGA and DAN SEWAGUDDE, (Formerly of Da Twinz)
    GANDA BOYS
The Ganda Boys (formerly known as Da Twinz) was formed during 2008 through an exciting collaboration on the highly acclaimed 2009 BBC-TV drama series, MOSES JONES. Denis Mugagga, Daniel Sewagudde and Craig Pruess immediately found that they had a special sound and style together – and that they could write lots of songs as a team (so easily) and the result was immediate, soulful, amazing and rewarding.
Forced to flee Uganda in 2001, Denis Mugagga and Daniel Sewagudde acquired refugee status in the UK having endured a relocation process that lasted several years. As young musicians from a turbulent Ugandan homeland they experienced first-hand the hardship of re-establishing their lives in a foreign system, leaving family, friends, and their budding hopes behind. They found strength while meeting many other refugees along their journey and became committed to addressing the current unprecedented flow of over 60 million displaced people from several troubled countries in the world.
UK based Ugandan singers DENIS MUGAGGA and DAN SEWAGUDDE (formerly of Da Twinz fame) have teamed up with UK world musician, arranger, record producer and film composer, CRAIG PRUESS, to form a new and exciting band, the GANDA BOYS.
A unique and vibrant sound, a big London live show achieved their first album!
On top of that, the three Ganda Boys have started the GANDA FOUNDATION, their charitable organization for raising money for social programs to combat poverty in the Third World – starting with raising funds and providing equipment for Ugandan hospitals and schools in need.
The recorded sound of the Ganda Boys is under the capable hands of cutting edge world fusion expert/performer, CRAIG PRUESS – a versatile American multi-instrumentalist musician, award winning composer, arranger, gold & platinum record producer.
Living in Kenya, East Africa, for some years, he stirred up the music scene there after joining the East Conservatoire of Music in Nairobi as a full time member of the music teaching staff. (he was in constant trouble with the establishment there for becoming well known in Kenya with his rock and soul bands!).
Based in the UK for many years, Craig has arranged and/or produced many of the UK’s top recording artists, including Massive Attack, Def Leppard, Sir Cliff Richard, Bond, and has been a featured session musician for Joe Cocker, Mike Oldfield and the Madonna film, “The Next Best Thing”. This is surely a very dangerous man…
His Indo-fusion expertise and sitar playing can be heard on “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, “Harry Potter, The Goblet of Fire”, “The Guru” and the Warner Brothers film “A Little Princess”.
Craig’s number one UK box office composer credits include the soundtracks for films “Bend It Like Beckham” and “Bride and Prejudice”, and his credits for TV music include the 2010 BAFTA Award nominated and 2009 RTS award nominated (for best original music score) BBC-TV drama series, MOSES JONES, and also one of the most successful independent TV drama series in UK history, “Peak Practice.”
But it was during the making of the recent BBC “Moses Jones” series that Craig first met and worked with Denis and Dan, and they have never looked back! It’s a sizzling collaboration,

Café Musique lives up to its name with a musical pallet that includes gypsy, swing, tango, folk and their self-defined genre, “wild classical.” The five members seem to eat, sleep and breathe music. They’re from the central coast of California and all five come from wildly different backgrounds, but together they’ve found kindred musical spirits in one another. Having performed around the world and been on the stages of several world-class music festivals, Café Musique has made thousands of fans of their powerful, emotive and beautiful sound. They have shared the stage with Doc Severinsen, David Grisman Quintet and Los Lobos and performed and recorded with Grammy award winner Louis Ortega, musical madman Joe Craven, songwriter Jill Knight and Broadway vocalist Sarah Kleeman.
A quote from Lisa Manning (entertainment director, Hidden Valley Music Seminars, Carmel Valley, CA) captures the essence of the band’s music perfectly: “Leading the way is the siren song of violinist Brynn Albanese. She charms, seduces, and delightfully entertains the audience through a whirlwind of musical genres. The group dynamic is part of the fun, with a sassy, musical interplay between accordionist Duane Inglish and Ms. Albanese. The band offers range as well as depth, moving from exhilarating tango to the intense folk music of Eastern Europe to the truly lovely songwriting of guitarist Craig Nuttycombe.”
Rounding out the band, string wizard Eric Williams brings a life-time of musical experience to the band’s fabric forged by his touring and recording with Taj Mahal, Rita Coolidge and appearing on over 100 recordings. On bass is multi-instrumentalist Fred Murray, whose background in blues, folk and rock gives the ensemble a heartbeat that underscores the ensemble’s powerful and passionate music.

“Downloading Joy” with “The Beverly Hills Shaman,” Guest Joya Delaney; and Musical Guest, Greek Songstress and Leonard Cohen Collaborator, Athena Andreadis on The LIFE CHANGES Show
GUEST: JOYA DELANEY and MUSICAL GUEST: ATHENA ANDREADIS
    ATHENA ANDREADIS
Described by the British press as “A rare diamond”, “A voice blessed”, “A singer destined for great things”
“A voice of great emotional resonance”
”Brave and original.” – The Guardian

“A talented rising star” – Billboard Magazine
Athena keeps touching peoples’ hearts with her powerfully emotive voice.

Athena Andreadis is one of those people who live and breathe and think and talk about music and she writes with the same sort of direct focus. During a one hour Channel 5 / Sky Arts documentary made about her in the UK, legendary songwriter Chris Difford (Squeeze) described Athena as someone who, “writes and sings from the heart. She doesn’t need to be packaged by anyone – she is simply and beautifully her.” She has the same sort of clear artistic vision that marks out Ed Sheeran or Adele or John Legend and it’s matched with a fresh, limitless ambition.

Born in London to Greek parents, Athena’s mother would sing her to sleep. Despite all the music around the house, the young Athena was encouraged to study business, so she headed to Bath University but continued performing. After securing a First Class Degree in Business, Athena enrolled at Trinity College, London, where she graduated from with two post-graduate degrees in Classical and Jazz Voice.  Her consistent performing throughout her school years inevitably lead to Athena recording her debut album, Breathe With Me, which drew many excellent reviews, indeed The Guardian commenting that she was “Brave and original. A remarkably fine singer songwriter.” Since then she has headlined and sold out numerous UK tours, played at Glastonbury, had songs covered by other artists and seen her own music synced with TV, commercials and movies. All the while Athena has built a strong and sizeable following with the sort of word of mouth that can only come from connecting directly with the emotional heart of your audience.

She has collaborated, recorded, performed and written songs with several internationally acclaimed and award-winning artists & songwriters including Eric Appapoulay (Natasha Bedingfield, Cat Stevens), Richard Causon (Ryan Adams, Ethan Johns, The Kings of Leon, Rufus Wainwright), Geoff Martyn (Travis), Chaz Jankel (Blockheads), Marti Pellow (Wet Wet Wet), David Saw (Carly Simon, Ben Taylor), Adam Levy (Norah Jones), Mike Rowe (Sheryl Crowe), Ben Trigg (Arctic Monkeys, Razorlight), Darren Berry (La Roux), Chesney Hawkes, Richard Cassell (Plan B), Ethan Allen (Ben Harper), Miles Zuniga (Fastball), Tobias Froberg (Ane Brun, Lisa Ekdahl), Leslie Satcher and Rebecca Martin,  for which Athena also won an award as a songwriter (“You’re Older” for Rebecca Martin’s album Growing Season) for which they won the Best Folk/Singer-Songwriter Album at the Independent Music Awards (USA).  She has had several cuts on other artists records too, as well as syncs on TV networks like CBS and NBC in the US, and films internationally.

Peeling Apples her second album was produced by Swedes Magnus Frykberg and Tobias Froberg (Ane Brun and Lisa Ekdahl), and co-writers on the record include Richard Causon (Ryan Adams, Ethan Johns, The Kings of Leon, Rufus Wainwright), and Jamie Hartman (Joss Stone, Anastacia) features on a duet. Further to headlining London Bush Hall, her first single, “Finding England” featured on the cover album of Word magazine and was selected for the Visit England campaign to coincid...
