LIFE Church

The goal of life isn’t to live on forever. What we do for ourselves usually dies with us. What we do for others lives beyond us. How we live our lives here determines what will outlive us.

Series: Legacy

At the beginning of this new sermon series, Pastor Bob, posed this question, “Would you be alright if God blesses your life and multiplies your blessings to others (Hebrews 6:10). What we do for ourselves usually dies with us. What we do for others lives beyond us.” How do we live a multiplied life? Jesus used the story in Matthew 25:14-30 to help us understand how His kingdom operates and how we are to live.

Series: 10 Qualities That Move Us From Believers To Disciples

We are fulfilled by living on purpose. Deep fulfillment only comes from living the life God planned for us (Philippian 2:16). To be fulfilled, we must look beyond today. At age 100, what will we be most proud of? When we are in heaven, what will matter most? We need to make those things matter now.

We are not generous by nature, just look at any three-year-old and their favorite word, MINE! Generosity has to be taught or discipled into us (Proverbs 11:24 (NIV)). We often think “mine”, while our gifts and everything we have is a gift from God.

We help each other become the best version of ourselves by growing and stretching (Eph 4:16). God has designed it for others to help us get back up, move forward and provide protection (Hebrews 3:13, Ephesians 6:18 and Hebrews 12:15).

The day God ran He saw beyond himself in order to run after us. He saw past the shame that He would endure and what culture would have considered shameful in order to be with us.

Whatever is going on in our heart will become the fruit of our life. “Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is watching.” (C.S. Lewis) One of our core values is authenticity. When we aren’t being authentic, we are being something we aren’t.

The Word of God does not lose its power over time. The beloved disciple, John, began his gospel with this message, “In the beginning, the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1-5).
