While celebrations of Youth Month are still in the air, we thought it’d be good to catch up with a young achiever who has published her own Christian Novel. Most young teenagers gladly allocate their spare time to seeing friends or going to the movies but Ntiyiso Mukhari, a grade eight learner in Polokwane, decided to spend the past six months exploring her writing talents while penning an inspirational novel.

Ntiyiso spent six months writing a Christian novel titled Life’s Journey. The book deals with a young girl, Jessie’s struggles growing up. Wanting to just live a normal life, she unfortunately has to contend with a multitude of challenges, including child abuse and abduction, while gradually finding her path to God.

Organised by the National Arts Festival team, Africa's largest and most colourful cultural event offers a choice of the very best of both indigenous and imported talent.

Every year for 11 days Makhanda Grahamstown's population doubles, as people flock to the city for a feast of arts, crafts and sheer entertainment. Every hall or large room becomes a theatre, parks and sport fields become flea markets, normally quiet streets have to be managed by an army of temporary traffic wardens, and every available bed in the city is booked. The festival offers more than 600 shows from opera, cabaret, drama and jazz to stand-up comics and folk music.
