We continue the series, "Endure," with another sermon titled "Unashamed." Apostle Paul explains to Timothy to not feel distressed or ashamed when we are suffering for the sake of the gospel and to be a witness of Christ. This week, Pastor Mark explains to us what suffering in Christian life looks like, what its purpose is, and how we can overcome it.

It’s one thing to say we believe the gospel but something else entirely to be willing to suffer for it. If we’re faithful to follow Jesus in this present world, we will experience some degree of opposition. People around us and the culture around us will have different perspectives on our beliefs, but we must not be shaken by those. We must guard ourselves on the truth of the Gospel. Jesus teaches us that anything we give up will be restored to us a hundred times over in the form of sweet fellowship with God in the present and eternal rewards in the future.

We all struggle with shame and suffering to varying degrees, but we do not have to be controlled by it. We will find the courage to endure it not by ourselves, but it comes from the power of God. He will help us. Therefore, the prayer that we need to make while we go through suffering is not for God to take away the sufferings from our lives but to ask for help to overcome sufferings with joy and rejoicing.

Suffering may kill our physical body, but it can never destroy the hope within us that has been entrusted to us because God himself and God alone is the one that guards our heart. Which is why we need to have total dependence on God's sovereignty and plan. Being prayerful at all times, asking God to guard and protect our soul. In times of suffering, our dependence should be on God’s ability and not ours.

This month we start with a new series, "Endure," and the first sermon is titled "Stand Firm." We are looking at how apostle Paul encourage Timothy when it comes to serving the Lord especially during that difficult time. This week, PIJ reminded us how we can stand firm with our spiritual life despite of our trials and circumstances. There are lots of reasons to fear in our world today. Political divisions, pressures we face in our relationships, work, finances, and health. We get anxious, afraid and sometimes we are slowly withdrawing from God. We make less time for Him, in our prayer, in attending church, and in our devotion. We get disheartened from growing our relationship with Christ. As believers, we must remember that God has graciously given us his Holy Spirit, who makes us fearless in troubled times, works his power in our weakness, God’s Spirit at work in our lives. We must kindle these gift by prayerfully and persistently pursuing joyful communion with Christ with the strength that he supplies.The Spirit of God is a spirit of power, love, and of sound judgment. Apostle Paul thought about these things and encourage Timothy to stand firm, obey and keep the faith. We can be confident even if there is temporary failure, God will bring us back. Let it be encouragement for us to find the faith we need in the dark days that lie ahead that there is a way through the trial, Jesus himself is with us and will go through it with us that he is totally in control of the event.

We have been spending one month on the series "Knowing God by Name". And this week, we ended with another name of God, Jehovah Shalom—the Lord is our peace. It is found first in the book of Judges, chapter 6, in connection with the story of Gideon. In the story, it took Gideon a while to believe in God plan for the Israelites. But when Gideon placed himself in God’s hands, the Lord gave the Israelites an amazing victory over their enemies and restored peace. Pastor Keith Obed explains that there is a richness to the peace that God gives us that we can never fully understand. But we can experience it. In a world where people are increasingly overwhelmed by stress, conflict, depression, anxiety, and financial, emotional, and physical uncertainty, the presence of Jehovah Shalom provides a peace that passes all understanding by consistently immersed in the presence of God and rely on Him for strength. We can trust that Christ cares for us and will never leave us. Scripture reminds us that He is faithful to provide an abundance of peace to all who call upon His name and choose to abide in His presence. God does not promise us freedom from trouble, but He does promise us His peace that will give us the ability to deal with the troubles we experience. If we place our hand in Christ, through His strength we can overcome and experience the peace He offers. The peace that provides hope, builds confidence, inspires courage, and affirms trust in the power of God.Today, God still brings peace into your troubled hearts. When our life is all upset—in our times of greatest distress—that is when God often brings peace and relief. And He will bring us peace if we trust Him and let Him carry out His plan for our life. We cannot control the uncertainties and circumstances of life, but in the presence of God, we can find hope, joy, strength, and peace to face each day. That was true for Gideon, and it is true for us today. God is Our Jehovah Shalom.

We continue the series "Knowing God by Name" with another sermon titled "El Shaddai-The God Almighty“. Brother Macoy shared some ways we must take in order to experience God's power in our lives.El Shaddai first found in the book of Genesis, where God speak to Abram (later Abraham) and make a promise to him that God will increase the number of his descendant if he walks before God faithfully, and be blameless. El Shaddai is a picture of a God who is mighty to do as He says. What He says comes to pass. As God told Abram, the fulfilment of God’s promises comes with commands first. We must do our part in being obedient despite our struggles and problems. It will not be easy, but we must remember who God is. He is the Almighty God, and he would give us the strength to overcome our situation.God has the desire to bless us. He desires to show grace and mercy and love towards us. When we feel we have given up all hope, when you feel so much burden in life, remember that God is able to do much more than is humanly possible. Know that he is our El Shaddai, walk before Him wholeheartedly, and it will change our life completely.

The series continues with another name of God, "Adonai – The Lord of all". Found in the book of Genesis, the name was first mentioned by Abraham, in his conversation with God. This week, PIJ explains to us the true meaning of LORD in our life.

Adonai, which means lord or master, signifies the ownership or the lordship. The name describe our relationship with God as our Lord and Master. As Master, God is the one with the right of possession. As Master, He provides for us and protects us. He gives directions that we are to follow. He is our Supreme Lord, Owner of all, and we are His servants.

But sometimes we doubt, we rebel, we call Him Lord but then we live the way we want based of our own understanding. But we must remember this, because God has possession of me, I must be in submission to Him. Since He is Lord, I must live under His leadership. He is majestic and mighty. It is a reassuring reminder that God is in control. The more we acknowledge Him as Adonai, the more we will see of His goodness. The morw we wiil experience joy in serving and peace in waiting. Letting God be our Master draws us closer to His amazing Grace.

The truth is, we are not the owner over the things that we have now, we are simply a steward. Calling Him Adonai requires that we give up our self-sufficiency and personal control and give Him complete reign over our lives. Imagine serving a master who returns our loyalty with unconditional love, comfort, and abundant provision. That is the loving Lordship that God offers to us all. So let’s surrendered our worries, burdens and ourselves completely to Adonai, our great Lord.

This week's sermon in the "Knowing God by Name" series is titled "Jehovah Raffa—the God Who Heals." This name appears in Exodus chapter 15. In this chapter, the newly freed Israelites are traveling to the Promised Land when they run out of water in the dry desert of Shur. Their faith is tested there.

Pastor Keith explains that God can heal us during difficult times. Everyone needs some form of healing at some point in life, whether it’s physical or spiritual. We often find ourselves seeking healing when we face struggles. Even in our pain, bitterness, and hurt, God can make things better. He uses our tough experiences to show us more of Himself.

When we face tough times, remember to hold on to God. Exodus 15:27 says, “Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees, and they encamped there by the water.” Trust that God will help us and know that He is in control. Believe that after our struggles, He will heal our Marah and prepare Elim for us.
