This week the series continues with another sermon, "Courageous Faith," focusing on the story of Gideon, from weakness to greatness. Pastor Obed explains how God can shape us from a weak, doubtful, inexperienced, and afraid individual into a strong and faithful servant of God when we are willing to take one step of faith at a time.

We often have situations in life that offer comfort, making us rather stay in one place and not step out of our comfort zone. Maybe jobs that provide enough income or opportunities in leadership roles or ministry roles at church that we would rather not fill ourselves in because we are comfortable staying as church attendees, or we feel like we are not qualify yet for the role despite encouragement from others.

However, the story of Gideon gives us an encouragement to face our doubts and insecurities and to obey and trusting God's calling. God can work through anyone, despite our flaws. He can use our imperfections as long as we trust Him and rely on Him. We just have to "hold fast" to our faith, and anticipate how God's power able to give victory even in impossible circumstances.

Gideon at first did not see himself the way God saw him and responded to God’s call with fear and doubt. But his decision not to settle in his situation gives us an inspiring example to follow and teaches us that God can do a lot with a few small steps of faith. God will patiently work with us. All we must do is be willing to act on faith anyway and take one small step forward at a time, even while we are afraid, and He will do the rest.

The series of Exempliying Faith continued with a sermon titled "Worship by Faith" a story about Abel's worthy sacrifice. This week, Pastor Joy reminded us that faith is the foundation of worship. Faithfully worshipping God means trusting and obeying Him that He will make things good on His promises, even when that fulfilment is yet "unseen" to us. 

Have you been in a situation where you know that the good things in your life were gifts from God’s hand and you know what God's instructions and words are, but somehow you doubt what God has promised because if you follow it, your comfortable life will get compromised thus in the end you would not listen and lead on your own terms. But faith is formed and fed by the Word of God, and we must let our minds and hearts be shaped by what God has said. Since we believe in His word, we are able to trust Him and obey Him.

We can not come to God on our own terms. We must remember that the way to God is to come to Him by faith. Abel believed what God said. He did not rest on his own opinion. He put his offering on the altar and trusting God, and God honoured His obedience. So the next time you worship God by offering, remember to give in Faith and to trust the fulfilment of His promises even though it seems distant.

This week, the series continues with the story of Enoch. The sermon this time is titled "Walk of Faith." Pastor Mark Ducusin discusses the life of Enoch, the man of faith whose life was well-pleasing in the eyes of God.

So what does a life that is pleasing to God look like? Hebrews make it very clear that the life that is pleasing to God is a life lived by faith. We must live our lives based on trusting, obeying, and depending on God. Remembering that He is in control of everything in this world. 

Not only must we live our lives by faith, but we must also walk with God Himself, in and out of our spiritual community. Staying in right fellowship with God by dwelling in prayer, meditating on His words, and transcending those into everyday real life. In our daily lives, we will encounter situations and people from different backgrounds, and we must stand firm, reflect, and walk in the ways of Christ.

The life of Enoch displays not only how it is that we come to please God but also what the reward is for those who live and seek God by faith. The reward is God Himself. While we have already begun to experience the joy of that relationship with Him now by way of our union with Christ, the fullness of our reward is something we must continue to seek by faith. Those who seek will not only please God in this life, but they will enjoy the greatest reward of all: the pleasure of walking with God.

The series "Exemplifying Faith" continues with another story of a Bible character named Rahab. Rahab's faith saved her and her family from destruction, and by faith, she made the choice to put her life at risk by protecting God's people.

This week, Brother Mark Baranda, reminded us that by trusting God, holding on to His words and promises, we can turn our fear into courage and our despair into hope. All by the grace and mercy of God.

In the world that we live in, we are caught in uncertainty and the unknown. We are faced with choices every day. We stumble at times, we fall, and we never get back up. Instead of looking back to God, we lean on our own understanding. We felt so helpless and decided to take matters into our own hands.

But as we look back on our spiritual journey with Christ, we must always remember who God is and what he can do. Our God is gracious and He is able to reach down and save the most unlikely person, even someone who is deemed hopelessly lost, as long as we own our failures and repent.

Remember Rahab's faith in God. She didn't have the spiritual advantages we have. She had no Scriptures, no teachers, and no fellowship; she lived in a vile pagan city, yet she made a bold decision that benefited many. She knew little about God, but she decided to trust Him completely and God honored her faith beyond what she hoped for. May we learn to trust God as much as she did and to cast our hope in a God we can't see rather than the world we can see.

The series Exemplifying Faith continues with another sermon “Unsinkable Faith”, looking at the example of Noah. This week pastor Joy shows us ways to help us have that confidence in God to press on in our own faith.


Walking with God is a daily process of growing more intimate with Him as you share everything in your life with Him and learn more of His ways. In the world order, seeing is believing. Unless it is visual, doubt remains as to its reality. But this is not the way it is in the Kingdom of God. Faith triumphs.


The key ingredient of faith is when we trust God completely, the manifestation of it is obedience. Because Noah feared and respected God, he built the ark as God told him to do. We cannot say we fear and respect God and yet disobey Him.


Steadfast obedience to God over time within difficult and incomprehensible circumstances, despite the opposition and rejection of others is what we need to strengthen our faith.

Noah's unwavering trust in God, his diligent obedience and his endurance to wait on God serve as powerful reminders of the importance of faith in the Christian life. It’s challenged us to strive and to live as men and women of faith like Noah.


So remember that our God is a faithful God, and what He promised would come to pass, we just need to obey Him and hold on to His promises.
