LIT Episode 1. Tim LaBlanc is the father of the Life In Twenty Podcast host Paul and the grandfather ("Papa") of co-hosts Carsyn and McCoy. In this interview, Tim talks about coming from a split home, growing up in the Rainier Valley of Seattle, what it was like sharing a house with 8 others, three to a bedroom, with one bathroom. Tim didn't like bookkeeping as a career because of the suit and tie, so he joined the Seattle School District as a gardener making $2/hr, earned his boiler license which gave him the engineer qualifications needed to move from janitor to head custodian of a Seattle high school where he retired at just 55 with a nice pension. Tim has been married 50+ years, never owned a driver's license, driven a scooter for 50+ years, is a mathematical genius, pro horserace handicapper, and gambling pioneer. In this podcast you'll learn how he collected Apple IIe's in the early 80's and started a programming schools as a custodian, changed his life score from a 50 to a 75 by retiring early, the importance of family, working hard for everything you get, not worrying about the things you can't control and so much more....
