A heartbreaking case out of Canada shows the grim direction of the nation’s assisted-suicide program. Jolene Van Alstine, suffering from a painful parathyroid condition, spent years begging for the surgery she needed.  

She couldn’t find a surgeon in her province, nor an endocrinologist willing to refer her elsewhere. Instead of receiving treatment, she was approved for assisted suicide, scheduled for January 2026. Her story exposes a critical flaw in Canada’s so-called universal health care: when the system fails to provide care, it offers death instead. 

This case proves MAID is no longer a “last resort,” but an escape for a system unable or unwilling to treat the most vulnerable. Van Alstine’s case raises a stark question, how many more patients will be offered death rather than healing? 

A federal appeals court has delivered a major victory for free speech in Clearwater, Florida. The 11th Circuit struck down a city ordinance that banned pro-life sidewalk counselors from approaching the entrance of an abortion facility.  

The law created a so-called “vehicular safety zone,” but in practice it blocked peaceful volunteers from offering literature, prayer, and alternatives to women seeking abortions. The court ruled the city went far beyond what was necessary for traffic safety and instead infringed on core First Amendment rights. 

With the decision, pro-life advocates can once again stand on the public sidewalk, speak with women, and provide compassionate help at the clinic entrance. The ruling halts the ordinance while legal proceedings continue, once again reminding the abortion industry that pro-life speech is protected speech.  

In Memphis, seventeen pro-life activists were arrested while participating in a peaceful protest at a Planned Parenthood facility.  

The group, connected to Rescue Resurrection, stood at the facility entrance to advocate for unborn children. Among those arrested were several well-known leaders in the movement, who called their actions an act of conscience and civil disobedience. 

Organizers said the arrests were “a small price to pay” for standing up for life. They also announced this is only the beginning, with a national protest planned at the FDA next year.  

While somewhat controversial, their stand for life should remind all of us what is at stake. The unborn deserve our best efforts. Lives hang in the balance. Will you be a voice for the voiceless and protect our nation’s most vulnerable?  

A record 16,499 people were killed by euthanasia in Canada in 2024, totaling 5.1% of all death in the country.  

Since euthanasia was legalized in 2016 there have been a reported 76,475 instances of euthanasia or assisted suicide in the country.  

While many may believe that chronic pain is the primary reason for a request for euthanasia, that is not the case. 

The primary factors cited by those who requested euthanasia were a loss of independence, perceiving themselves as a burden on their family, friends, or caregivers, and emotional distress.  

Individuals who need love, care, and compassion are instead being treated like animals. Euthanasia and assisted suicide are a terrible injustice and violation of the sanctity of life.  

Here is a heartwarming story for you, at 87 years old, Margaret Thompson, herself a preemie born during wartime in England and now partially blind, spends her days knitting blankets for premature babies around the world.   

Though she lost vision in one eye and has limited sight in the other, Margaret relies on her sense of touch to create each blanket just as she has done for the last 40 years. 

Because of her act of kindness, countless newborn babies have felt her care: as hospitals like the Royal Victoria Infirmary have received her handmade blankets, giving the smallest, most vulnerable newborns warmth and comfort. 

Each of us have gifts and talents that God has given us to serve His kingdom, if we all pitch in like Margaret, think of the impact we will have.  

Recent weeks have brought renewed scrutiny on the abortion pill mifepristone. Now 175 members of Congress have urged the Food and Drug Administration and the Department of Health and Human Services to launch a full investigation into its safety.

The lawmakers point to a recent analysis exposing serious adverse effects including severe bleeding, infection, and sepsis occurring up to twenty-two times more often than the FDA claims.

They call for reinstating in-person dispensing requirements, correctly identifying that removing safeguards under the previous administration opened the door to widespread, unregulated chemical abortions.

We urge the FDA to listen to the concerns of these lawmakers and protect women and the unborn from this dangerous abortion pill.

Abortions funded through TRICARE, the military healthcare system, have dropped to their lowest levels in five years. 

Data disclosed through a freedom of information request show only five abortions recorded through June of 2025 compared to 35 in 2021 under Joe Biden.  

This decline comes following President Trump’s reversal of many of Biden’s policies which had expanded military access to abortion.  

The Trump administration has vowed to dismantle what they describe as the prior administration’s whole-of- government effort to promote and fund abortion. 

Abortion is never the answer and our brave men and women in the military deserve better. We are grateful to see the Trump administration protect servicemembers and their children from the violence of abortion.  

Last week the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the case of First Choice Women’s Resource Center v. Platkin. 

The pro-life resource center has asked the Court to block an intrusive subpoena from  Matthew Platkin, Attorney General of New Jersey. The subpoena is part of a targeted harassment campaign and demands donor lists, staff and volunteer records, and years of financial and operational documents, despite no complaints, illegal activity, or any evidence of wrongdoing. 

Audio from the oral argument indicates that the justices are skeptical of New Jersey’s position as even liberal Justices Sotomayor and Kagan pushed back at times.

Radical pro-abortion activist Amelia Bonow, founder of the “shout your abortion” movement, has announced her new book titled, “Abortion is Everything.”

The book is marketed toward young children aged five to eight. In the social media announcement for the book, abortion was described as a superpower, giving people the ability to shape their destiny.

The book is described as a way to introduce the concept of abortion to children and explain what it is, why someone might get an abortion, and what it might feel like.

This vile pro-abortion propaganda has no place in the library of a child. Abortion is not a superpower, it is lethal violence against an innocent child.
