In today’s episode of the mi-brand HQ podcast, I am speaking to
Tom Popel
Tom has spent 13 years in the tech industry, working across EMEA, Asia and the U.S.
Currently, he's a Director at Workday working in their Software alliances organization. His focus is on growing public cloud and strategic partnerships, as well as building, incubating and launching new partner programs for Workday.
Tom has worked across numerous functions throughout his career. Spending his first 7 years in various roles centered around enterprise client sales and customer success, before moving into strategic partnerships.
Tom believes that there are three core essentials to your career advancement;
- Building you relationships and your network,
- Being front and center of where you want to be and
- Developing an understanding of what it takes to get you to where you want to go.
And that no one will pick you up and take you there, it's about creating that opportunity for yourself.
Tom grew up in the UK, where he obtained a degree in Music from the University of Newcastle. He lived in Prague for several years before moving to the U.S. After stints in Chicago and Milwaukee, he now lives in Tacoma, Washington with his wife, two daughters and their dog. He spends his spare time traveling, hiking, training in Brazilian JiuJitsu and making music.
