Hydroxychloroquine, Not Remdesivir, Should Be The Standard Of Care

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. A new and unproven drug called Remdesivir has been anointed as the “standard of care” in treating victims of the Chinese virus. Yet hydroxychloroquine - or HCQ - has been proven effective against corona and has been used since 1944 and is virtually free of side effects. You can get a generic prescription at Fred Meyer for fourteen dollars and ninety-five cents. Remdesivir costs four thousand five hundred dollars for a course of treatment, and one of its side effects is liver failure. So why remdesivir? No pharmaceutical company will make any money off HCQ, but Gilead Sciences, which spent two and a half million dollars lobbying the White House in the last three months, will make two billion dollars off remdesivir. That may be the only explanation we need.

More Evidence That Hydroxychloroquine Works

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. One of the enduring mysteries of the coronavirus panic is the refusal of our health care bureaucrats to embrace hydroxychloroquine or HCQ as a treatment for the Chinese virus. Dr. Robin Armstrong at the Resort at Texas City Nursing home had 56 residents who tested positive for COVID-19. Afraid he would lose twenty percent of them, he immediately began prescribing hydroxychloroquine with a Zpac and zinc at the first sign of symptoms. The results? Only one of the nursing home patients died, despite being in the highest risk category. Says Dr. Armstrong, “Everyone who started on treatment at the first sign of symptoms is actually doing really well.” Time and again HCQ has proven effective at treatment and prevention of coronavirus. It should be the standard of care. Why isn’t it?

Why Democrats Love Vote By Mail: It’s Easier To Cheat

Bryan Fischer here with the Life and Liberty Minute. One of the mantras of our friends on the political left is to never let a serious crisis go to waste. In this coronavirus panicdemic, Democrats have been yammering in unison about mandating nationwide mail-in voting. They love mail-in voting because it makes it easy to cheat. The Heritage Foundation has records of at least 20 elections fraudulently and demonstrably won through vote by mail. Democrats used mail-in voting and ballot harvesting - where anybody can turn in somebody else’s ballot - to turn Orange County from red to blue in 2016 and to flip seven legislative seats in 2018. This year alone, 24 million ballots will be mailed out to ineligible voters. That’s 24 million opportunities to cheat. To protect election integrity, we must return to in-person voting and voter ID.

Democrat governors have shredded it into tiny scraps of paper. New York Mayor Bill DeBlasio showed how totalitarian he is by personally going with the police to crash the funeral for a much beloved rabbi. Saying “the time for warnings has passed,” he loudly proclaimed he has a “zero tolerance” for the free exercise of religion and freedom of assembly and threatened to arrest everybody in sight. A crisis is no excuse to defy the Constitution. In fact, It was written so politicians would know how to behave in a crisis. Mr. Mayor, you say you have zero tolerance for the First Amendment. Well, we, the American people, have zero tolerance for you and your totalitarianism.

Incarceration-In-Place Weakens Our Immune System

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. The way the human body builds up its immune system is by encountering viruses and bacteria in the course of everyday life. This allows the body’s natural defense mechanisms to strengthen its ability to fight them off. We also know that social isolation weakens the human immune system. When governors issue incarceration in place orders, and require us to be socially isolated, they are not helping us, they are hurting us. Prolonged isolation weakens our immune system since we don’t have the normal exposure to pathogens that are necessary to maintain a healthy immune system. This makes it more likely we will see a resurgence of illness when things open up as folks will be dealing with their environment with a weakened immune system. In other words, we need fellowship more than we thought.

Fauci Knew Since 2005 That Hydroxychloroquine Would Work

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Covid 19 is part of the SARS family of viruses. Dr. Anthony Fauci, who heads the coronavirus task force, has known since 2005 that hydroxychloroquine - HCQ - works against the SARS family of viruses because of research done by the National Institutes of Health, of which he is the head. The NIH said in 2005 that “Chloroquine is a potent inhibitor of SARS coronavirus infection and spread.” This is why it’s been so effective treating coronavirus patients today, with some doctors finding a 100% cure rate if it is administered at the first sign of symptoms. If Dr. Fauci had advocated the use of HCQ from the beginning, it’s possible nobody would have needed to die. America deserves an explanation.

Global Warming Is Good

Bryan Fischer here, with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. We just passed another Earth Day, while eco-fascists continue to cry apocalyptic warnings about global warming. But the truth is that, if global warming is occurring, that’s a good thing, not a bad thing. Ten times as many people die from cold snaps than heat waves. A warmer climate means fewer people freezing to death, which is good for people who’d rather live. A warmer climate means longer growing seasons and more bountiful harvests, which is good for people who like to eat and don’t want to see people starve to death. Greens blame global warming, if it is occurring at all, on carbon dioxide. But CO2 is not a pollutant - it’s plant food. It is the very stuff of life for plants who require CO2 to grow. They not only absorb CO2, they give off oxygen in return, which is great for people who like to breathe.

Governors Race To The Top, Race To The Bottom

Bryan Fischer here with Today’s Life and Liberty Minute. One of the brilliant things the Founders did in the Constitution was to reserve all powers of action to the states that are not explicitly given to the federal government. Rather than dictating to the states, President Trump has wisely deferred to governors the decision about how soon and how fast to reopen their states. We will now have two races to watch among our governors - the race to the top and the race to the bottom. Some governors will take the lead in opening their states up, like Governor Brian Kemp of Georgia. He’s being chased by the governors of South Carolina and Florida. And then there’s the race to the bottom, to see which governor will keep his people locked down the longest and be the slowest to set them free. I don’t know about you, but I know which race I want my governor to win.

Gorsuch Strikes A Mighty Blow Against Roe v. Wade

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life & Liberty Minute. The Supreme Court has locked itself in its own prison, called precedent. It’s the view that whatever position the Supreme Court takes on one case must become the ruling position until the end of time, whether that ruling is right or wrong. Precedent is the only thing propping up Roe v. Wade. Not even Ruth Ginsburg thinks Roe was rightly decided. In a majority opinion this week, Neil Gorsuch blew precedent up and left it lying in smoking ruins. Said Gorsuch, referring to a precedent that’s 58 years old, “No one on the Court today is prepared to say it was rightly decided, and stare decisis isn’t supposed to be the art of methodically ignoring what everyone knows to be true.” We pray God this is the beginning of the end for Roe v. Wade.
