Coronavirus Panic: Remember Peter

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. The Coronavirus panic has now taken on a life of its own. We’re all now just passengers. It’s a very

ncertain time for everyone. But remember the story of Jesus and the storm on the Sea of Galilee. While the disciples were in full blown panic, he was asleep in the back of the boat. Whatever else we know, we know that Jesus is not panicked by this crisis. Remember that as long as Jesus is in the boat, the boat won’t sink and the storm won’t last forever. Peter was even able to walk on the turbulent waters as long as he kept his eyes fixed on Jesus. It was only when he shifted his focus from the Lord to the waves that he began to sink. Let’s take all the things that worry us - our health, our families, our finances, our pensions - and take them out of our basket and put them in the Lord’s basket. He will take care of them for us.

The Good That Can Come From Coronavirus

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. There’s been a lot of irrational overreaction to the coronavirus, and it may permanently change some features of our culture through government shutdowns. Now God always brings beauty out of ashes, and there may be some good things he brings out of this crisis. More dads are working from home, and spending more time with their families. More children are being educated at home, which protects them from the radical LGBT agenda taught in schools. More families are enjoying homecooked meals. The pace of life has slowed for everyone. Students are taking college courses online, which may reduce the cost of education. Families are spending more time with each other and in Bible study and prayer. The Bible says that God uses even the wrath of man to praise him, and maybe he’s going to do that again.

Taking The Land

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. God has given us a charge to take this land for Christ, just as he instructed Joshua to take the land of Canaan for God. Our battle is not a physical one as theirs was but rather a spiritual one. But it is a war nonetheless. It may seem at times as if we are opposed, as Joshua was, by a great horde of troops, in number like the sand on the seashore. It may even be God’s will to harden the hearts of our cultural and spiritual adversaries against us, but this is only to provide a greater display of God’s power. We are told that after making war with his enemies for a long time, Joshua took them all in battle. How do we take this land for Christ today? It begins with obedience. Joshua, we’re told, left nothing undone of all that the Lord commanded him, and God gave him the victory. May he do the same for us today.

Stop The Panic Over Coronavirus

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. The world is in an all-consuming panic over Coronavirus. Some entire countries have shut down, and

states have shut down churches, restaurants, schools, and businesses. But the facts are these: the vast majority of those who get the virus recover, and for most it’s like a mild cold. Unless you’re over 70 and have an underlying health issue, you’ve got almost nothing to worry about. Less than 100 people have died of the virus this year in the U.S., but last year 80,000 Americans died from the ordinary, seasonal flu. The Bible tells us to respond with faith, not fear, and faith is the calm but resolute refusal to panic. Let’s be sensible, wash our hands, and stay home if we’re sick. Let’s show the world how God’s men and women respond to a crisis. Let’s keep our heads while everyone around us is losing theirs.

When Government Doesn’t Punish Crime

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. The Scripture makes clear that government is God’s idea, not man’s, and that he has given to government authority to punish criminal behavior. What happens when government does not do its job? In Ecclesiastes 8:11 we are told, “Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to to evil.” When the law is not enforced, evil is allowed to run free and grow in strength. Regressives are rolling back restraints against evil, and the results are entirely predictable. A bank robber in New York was arrested for holding up four banks. But because of brainless bail reform laws, he was immediately set free. What did he do? The very next day he robbed another bank. He said, “I can’t believe they let me out! What were they thinking?” My question exactly.

How To Prevent Suicide

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Teen suicide should be a concern to us all. But there is a solution, and the solution is intact marriages. A large South Korean study of middle and high school students found there was a strong correlation between suicides and the marriage status of parents. Adolescent boys from broken marriages were at an 80% increased risk of suicide attempts, and adolescent girls were at a 90% increased risk. Puberty Blockers Are Irreversible

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. The world is making a mad, desperate, dangerous, and devilish rush toward making transgenderism the preferred option for sexually confused teenagers. In the process, teens are given puberty blockers that they’re told are reversible. Unfortunately, that is blatantly false. Endocrinologist Dr. William Malone says puberty blockers interfere with normal bone density development as well as brain development, and increase rather than cure gender dysphoria. One drug called Lupron actually causes the chemical castration of the teens who take it, and is linked to a number of deaths. But 85% of teens naturally outgrow gender dysphoria by the time they’re adults. God is clear he made us male and female, and he’s not confused at all about which is which. We shouldn't be confused either.

Bible Says “Male” and “Female,” Science Agrees

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. The Bible says God made mankind male and female. Two and only two sexes, nothing in between, nothing on either side. And science agrees. Two prominent biologists, from Penn State and the University of Manchester in England, write in the Wall Street Journal, “Biologists and medical professionals need to stand up for the empirical reality of biological sex,” because the denial of biological sex is “at odds with the scientific understanding of human sexuality. No third type of sex cell exists in humans,” they say, “and therefore there is no sex ‘spectrum’ or additional sexes beyond male and female. Sex is binary.” Says another biologist, “A male on the day of his conception will remain a male on the day of his death.” The Bible told us that 3500 years ago. Ladies and gentlemen, do not doubt this book.
