When We Walk Through The Valley of the Shadow of Death

Bryan Fischer here, with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Psalm 23 tells us that sometimes, by God’s grace, we lie down in green pastures, next to quiet waters. Life is peaceful, tranquil, and serene. But other times we must walk through the valley of the shadow of death, where things are dark and dangerous. The assurance of Scripture is that you are not alone in that valley. Your shepherd is walking with you, right there beside you, even though you don’t see him. With his rod he will drive away the spiritual forces of darkness which seek to overwhelm you. With his staff he will lift you up when you fall and bring you through that dangerous valley to a broad and open place. He will push back the powers of darkness so they can only watch as you enjoy table fellowship with the Lord of glory. His goodness and mercy will indeed follow you all the days of your life.

It’s four runners, each running as fast as he can, and then passing the baton to the next runner. That’s the tensest moment of the competition; everybody holds their breath. God’s plan for us, dads, is to run as hard as we can, as long as we can, and then pass the baton to our sons to carry the torch forward and run their part of the race as fast as they can. God’s Will For Dating

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. God has a word for singles about sex. This is the will of God, your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality - that’s 1 Thessalonians 4:3. The world thinks that sex with lots of people is good, that you have sex with lots of people until you find the right one, and then you marry her. But God says that his will, his standard, is that singles abstain from sexual immorality. That means from all sex outside marriage. His will for singles is to reserve every bit of their sexual expression for marriage, and channel all their sexual energy into that relationship. Survey after survey reveals that the people who are happiest with their sex lives are those who saved sex for marriage and remained faithful to their marriage partners. Sex reserved for marriage is fun. Plus you get kids as a bonus!

The Folly Of Clean, Renewable Energy

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Environmentalists want us to believe that there is such a thing as clean, renewable energy. There isn’t. Every form of energy generation involves an impact on the environment, and clean energy produces more of it than fossil fuel energy. To produce just one thousand-pound electric car battery requires digging up, moving, and processing 500,000 pounds of raw materials. But by burning gasoline, you can deliver the same number of vehicle miles at one tenth of the total tonnage. To produce just one wind turbine requires 900 tons of steel, 2500 tons of concrete, and 45 tons of plastic that cannot be recycled and has to be dumped in landfills. Clean energy is more destructive to the environment than the abundant fuel God has stored up for us in the ground. Gentlemen, start your engines.

Let’s Have Faith, Not Fear When It Comes to Coronavirus

Bryan Fischer here with the Life and Liberty Minute. The media and the world seem to be in a complete meltdown over the Coronavirus. Regressives seem to be secretly hoping for a pandemic, in the hopes it will damage President Trump. But our response should be from faith and reason, not from panic and fear. The New England Journal of Medicine indicates the mortality rate is very low, perhaps considerably less than one percent, and is more like a severe seasonal influenza. There have been zero cases among children younger than 15, and deaths primarily occur among the elderly who were already suffering from another illness. The vast majority of patients recover. The virus does spread easily, which is why President Trump was wise to immediately close our borders to non-American travelers from China. Faith is the refusal to panic, and this is no time to panic.

Man’s Sanctuary Cities Are The Opposite Of God’s

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Regressives have declared many cities in the U.S. to be “sanctuary cities,” where illegal alien criminal trespassers are protected from accountability for their criminal behavior. They even cite the Bible in support, since God created “cities of refuge” in ancient Israel. But God’s cities of refuge are the polar opposite of today’s sanctuary cities. A city of refuge was a place a man could go for temporary protective custody after he had killed a man. When the date of his trial arrived, the city of refuge was required to hand him over to the authorities. A city of refuge was designed to enforce the law. But a sanctuary city is designed to evade the law. Instead of holding a man for trial, a sanctuary city lets him go to rape and kill again. Shame on regressives for so perverting the word of God.

Constitution to Philadelphia: Get Your Hands Off Christian Foster Care

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Catholic Social Services is committed to placing vulnerable children in foster homes with a married mom and a dad. They know that’s the optimal nurturing environment for young children. But Philadelphia kicked CSS out of its foster care program because they would not place children in same-sex households, which are suboptimal for children. The Constitution guarantees the free exercise of religion. Guided by their deeply held religious principles, Catholic Social Services has the guarantee of the Constitution that government cannot interfere with their free exercise of religion. The Supreme Court will hear this case in the fall. Here’s hoping and praying the Court will apply the Constitution the Founders gave to us and protect religious liberty and vulnerable young children in the City of Brotherly Love.
