The Rural & Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) was created by the Government of Canada to assist communities in the Northern & Rural regions of Canada to attract skilled immigrants to their region. The RNIP allows immigrants overseas or post-secondary students with that participating communities to apply to live and work in that community. It allows the community to nominate that individual and their family for Permanent Residency. The goal is for newcomers to live and work in the community that nominated them for Permanent Residency.
