We’re learning more about how to embrace the intuitive, emotional, creative side of money and how vision boarding, meditating, journaling, and other centering practices can actually help you achieve your goals faster and keep you happier during the journey. Much of the financial advisory world is focused on data and analytics and accidentally ignores the human component when it comes to financial decisions. Today’s talk with Ellen Rogin, author of Picture Your Prosperity will open your eyes to what may be missing from your financial plan. While we don’t fully recommend ditching the spreadsheets, we do recommend embracing your own customized vision for your future, independent of what you may have thought your financial goals should be. What can you do to look at your money in a more holistic way and embrace your own intuition? For starters, read “Picture Your Prosperity” by Ellen Rogin. More on IG @life_rebalanced

Traditional goal setting would have us set an extraordinary, overarching goal for the New Year and then break it down into gaps of time and checklist tasks that we’d theoretically tackle month by month. The beauty of this particular New Year, however, is that we carry the wisdom and flexibility that 2020 taught us. Join us as we discuss the ways we’re rebalancing with personal values in mind, what we’re focusing on and why, and how we’re keeping it simple in 2021. Listen to learn how a singular focus for each month can be low-stress, easy to maintain, and simultaneously create feelings of progress and fulfillment.

If 2020 taught us anything, it’s to expect the need for adjustment and to embrace flexibility. Instead of tossing hopes for plans aside for 2021, plan for the year ahead as you would in any December, with the expectation that there will be adjustments as we collectively discover what the future holds. Begin by placing your personal values first, growth-oriented goals next, and then allow other details to sprinkle in. Be mindful of creating systems and habits that will propel you toward your goals (like a morning or workout routine) that you can perform no matter the external world events. Take into account the possibility of hiring help, learning new skills, and exploring ways you can create efficiency in your life in order to allow focus on what’s important in the year to come.
