In this episode I talk about picking and choosing being progressive rather than embracing it as affecting our entire lives. I talk about the need for nuance and context before we start pointing at women for wearing make-up or even criticising them for how they look. I talk about the need for opinions to be shared but to also be questioned. Chime in as always! All links below ...

Happy New Year folks. Thank you for tuning into some new material/content from me about mental health. I sincerely hope that you find relief/inspiration/insight from this piece, even if it's triggering at points. I've learnt an incredible amount about my own mental health in the last 2-3 months and the past 2-3 years have been great teachers. The truth is ... every moment is ... and I find it becomes acute and concentrated when we don't allow the moments to reveal things to us - when we're not present enough. Which is why perhaps the past 2-3 months and 2-3 years have been so acute. Perhaps I was in an "emotional coma" for a period of time (as I call it in this piece). But the idea is that the need for presence and stillness and acceptance is never done or over. No ... it's always a good idea in every moment. Not just when we feel a desperate need for relief or support. We should never leave it to the point of breaking. Speaking up isn't so simple for us - I know - and there are times when speaking our pain isn't the answer. But allowing ourselves to feel good when we don't feel good is so necessary and a real game changer. Allowing for wellbeing and a feeling/sense of joy and wellness to come in. That in itself can feel empowering ... it can feel like mastery over self and over mind. It's worth the tiny effort to try to shift up our vibration/state to a slightly better state without trying to make major mental leaps. Just taking things a tiny step at a time - just to feel good. Things really don't have to get to such an acute and concentrated mental struggle ... and we need not identify with it so strongly. I am hesitant to speak on the awful negative experiences but I felt it would help paint the picture of how mental health could be 'seen' to help provide support for anyone struggling. I would really appreciate you sharing your thoughts .... much love and have a fun start to 2020 ... even if it's just a small bit of fun. It's still fun. I will be dancing in my PJ's alone in my studio whilst cub is asleep.

I'll be recording and releasing an episode (working title "Scene") on the subject of mental health so please look out for it. For now I was inspired to record an episode speaking about vulnerability and anxiety and how feeling vulnerable and anxious can go hand in hand. Would love to hear your experiences of confronting your own challenges.

Forgive me for my tone but I couldn't help it! I picked the 10 top topics relating to 'podcasts for women' and well ... just so generalist. Your thoughts?

Power Season 6 SPOILER ALERT!!! Tasha is making calls - as a mother - which many wouldn't be pleased with. It's easy to judge her choices but one size doesn't fit all. Thoughts?

So I started to get stuck into this book expecting to get straight into the solitude bit and interestingly the whole section on friendship and attachment spoke to me so much that I felt compelled to share here. It's so true that to delve into solitude and how we are able to be alone, it's really important we look at how we are with others. Lane Moore's description on "waiting room friends" is so spot on. Also so helpful for us to do better at assessing the value of our friendships.
