  • That's Just What I Needed Podcast - Why Identity Matters More Than You Think

So much of how we live—how we feel, how we respond, and even how we make decisions—is shaped by how we see ourselves.  And if we're  honest, most of us don’t stop very often to ask where that identity is actually coming from. Is it coming from how busy I feel, how overwhelmed I am, the roles I carry, or whether I feel like I’m doing enough… or failing again?

In this episode, I slow us down and invite you to take a closer look at the labels we’ve been living from and compare them to what God actually says is true about us. We’ll open Scripture and talk honestly about what it means to live from our identity in Christ—not performance, approval, or circumstances.

This is a freeing reminder that our identity isn’t earned, it’s received—and who God says we are is far more secure than any season we’re walking through.

  • Praying Christian Women - 452 Praying Through Psalm 50: God Is Judge, Witness, and Prosecutor

Don't forget to grab your free scripture journal at PrayingChristianWomen.com/journal today!

What if the "wicked" standing trial in God’s courtroom aren't the godless, but the religious? What if the prosecution’s case is built not on your sins of ignorance, but on your acts of hypocrisy?

In this devotional on Psalm 50, we enter a divine lawsuit where God acts as the Judge, Witness, then Prosecutor. We move beyond the text to uncover the Hebrew context of the "wicked"—covenant members who recite God's statutes while secretly harboring deceit. We explore why God rejects the "cattle on a thousand hills" to demand something far more costly: a "sacrifice of thanksgiving."

Jaime also shares a candid personal reflection on the specific accusation of slandering "your own mother's son," connecting it to the heartbreaking political and spiritual fractures we see in the world today. She challenges us to examine our own role in that division—whether we are building unity or "letting our mouths loose in evil."

Join host Jaime Hampton on the Praying Christian Women podcast for a session of tender hope. If you’ve been disheartened by discord among believers or caught in the trap of performative faith, this episode offers a path toward true integrity. Come ready to be examined by the Judge who desires your heart, not just your habits.

  • Confessions of a Christian Alcoholic with Jon Seid... - Addiction as Spiritual Warfare? Joel Muddamalle on Why Our Struggles Are Bigger Than We Think

“Addiction promises control, comfort, and rescue—but it actually strips all of those things away. It intoxicates you so you can no longer discern what’s really happening.”

Is addiction merely a personal struggle—or is it part of a much larger spiritual battle? In this episode, Joel Muddamalle helps us rethink addiction through the lens of spiritual warfare, not in a sensational or fear-driven way, but in a deeply biblical and pastoral one. Rather than framing spiritual warfare as dramatic demonic encounters or something to obsess over, Joel explains how the real danger often lies in what quietly compromises our discernment, dulls our awareness, and slowly reshapes our loves.

We explore how addiction functions as a form of spiritual intoxication—one that promises relief and control while subtly disorienting the heart, mind, and soul. Joel shows why Scripture consistently calls believers to be sober-minded, alert, and resistant, and how addiction undermines those very capacities. This conversation also reframes sanctification itself as a battleground, where the fight is not simply against bad habits, but against counterfeit comforts that keep us from true dependence on Jesus.

If freedom has felt harder than you think it should, or willpower alone never seems to be enough, this episode offers a reason: the struggle is bigger than you think. But so is the God you serve.

    We Explore:

    — why addiction is not just about excess but about losing spiritual and emotional discernment
    — how Scripture frames spiritual warfare as something we resist, not something we seek out
    — the difference between awareness and acceptance when it comes to addictive patterns
    — why sanctification itself is a form of spiritual warfare
    — how counterfeit comfort keeps us from true dependence on Jesus
    — the danger of aiming for sobriety instead of aiming for Christ
    — how pride, secrecy, and isolation fuel addiction
    — why honesty and humility are essential for real healing
    — how modern systems quietly train us to self-medicate and self-save
    — what it actually looks like to fight sin with love instead of willpower

  • Your Daily Bible Verse - When Small Things Spread Fast (Galatians 5:9)

Today’s Bible Verse: “A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.” — Galatians 5:9

Galatians 5:9 uses a simple image to reveal a powerful truth: small influences have big impact. Paul warns that even a little false teaching or compromise can quietly shape the direction of our faith and lives. What seems minor at first can grow, spread, and affect everything.

  • Your Nightly Prayer: Evening Prayers for Christian... - Resting in God's Strength

When life feels like an unrelenting battle—when you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, and desperate for God to intervene—Psalm 28 reminds us that we don’t have to rely on our own strength. David’s prayer begins with a raw plea for God to listen, a reminder that it’s okay to bring honest distress to the Lord. In seasons where the “arrows” feel constant and the mountains seem immovable, God is not distant or indifferent. He is strength for the weary, a resting place for exhausted souls, and a shield in the middle of attack. Tonight’s meditation invites you to lean into God’s presence, trust His protection, and rest in the truth that He carries you when you can’t take another step.

    Main Takeaways

    • Be encouraged that God hears your cries, especially in seasons of distress and spiritual fatigue.

    • Learn how trusting God becomes both strength to stand and a shield to protect you through hardship.

    • Remember that you don’t have to push through in your own power—God carries you when you’re at your limit.

    • Find hope in the promise that suffering and attacks will not last forever, and God’s redemption is coming.

    Bible Verse References

    • Psalm 28:7

    • Psalm 28

    • Revelation (referenced generally; specific verse not mentioned in the transcript)

    Your Evening Prayer

    Jesus,
You see how heavy this season feels. You know where I’m tired, where I’m afraid, and where I need You to step in. Tonight I choose to trust You as my strength and my shield. When I feel attacked and overwhelmed, cover me and my family with Your protection. When I don’t have the energy to keep going, carry me with Your steady love. Be our refuge, our portion, and our peace in the middle of turmoil. Help me rest in Your presence and believe that You are working, even when I can’t see the way through.
    In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  • Everyday Prayers with Million Praying Moms - A Prayer for When God is Silent

A Prayer for When God is Silent by Brooke McGlothlin

Waiting on God can feel painfully quiet—especially when it comes to our children, our families, and the prayers that matter most. In this episode, we explore how trusting God’s promises doesn’t require understanding His purpose or His timetable. This episode reminds us that God is always faithful to His Word, even when His answers come in the form of silence.

You are invited to see God’s “delays” differently—not as absence, but as purposeful patience and loving growth.

    Reference: 2 Peter 3:9

Prayer: Father, thank you that we can trust your timing. Help our families to trust it as well, especially when it feels like you're being too quiet or that your response is delayed. Broaden our minds and hearts to make room for your plans, even if they aren't what we want. In Jesus' name, amen.

    Alive in Christ
    By Vivian Bricker

    Bible Reading:
“In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires” (Romans 6:11-12).

From the moment we place faith in Jesus, our lives change. We are no longer held in bondage to sin in the same way as we used to be. While we will all continue to struggle with sin throughout our lives, we are no longer slaves to sin.

Instead, we are children of God. As His children, we are no longer compelled to obey the sinful flesh as we should want to follow, glorify, and obey God in every area of our lives.
