In this episode, we’re talking about one of the hardest parts of following Jesus—loving difficult people. Whether it’s a critical coworker, a gossiping friend, or someone who just knows how to push your buttons, Scripture reminds us that love is still the call.
Jesus said in John 13:35, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” That means our response to others—especially the challenging ones—speaks volumes about who we belong to.
Takeaways:
Loving others isn’t about agreeing—it’s about reflecting Christ’s heart.
Prayer is often the first step toward compassion.
Patience and kindness in difficult moments reveal God’s grace in us.
You may be the only example of Jesus someone encounters today.

Although a New Year is usually celebrated with joyful expectation, for some, it brings an uncertainty of what might lie ahead in the coming year, especially if the last year brought sorrow, loss, and lack.
Many of us have faced hardships this past year, unexpected, difficult to navigate, and might be feeling pretty beat up from life over the last year, still in recovery and restoration mode, looking ahead to the New Year. If so, it’s understandable that we are somewhat reluctant to start all over again when we’re still struggling from the year before.
But as Christians, we don’t have to be fearful of facing uncertainty, because even if we don’t know what might lie ahead for us, our heavenly Father does know, and His word tells us that He is with us, leading us forward in this life.
God tells us in Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand”
As well, God encourages us throughout the Bible to have faith in Him, to trust Him, because we don’t need to be fearful. He calls us to take on five traits when fear tries to overcome our faith. Listen to this episode to hear what those five traits are.
TONIGHT'S SCRIPTURE
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.” - Psalm 56:3
YOUR NIGHTLY PRAYER
Dear Father,
As we look ahead to the New Year, we are holding on tight to Your righteous right hand, knowing that even though fear tries to tear apart our faith and away from Your hand, it is holding onto us. Strengthen us, dear Lord, to be courageous, sound-minded, unshakable, fearless, and most of all peaceful. Help us find comfort and confidence in knowing You’ve got a hold on us that cannot be broken. As we enter the days ahead, leading us into the uncertainty of a new year, we know that with You, our futures are certain.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
THREE THINGS TO MEDITATE UPON
1. If struggling with fear as we approach the New Year, look to the Bible for verses that help embolden your faith. Write them down and read daily, maybe carry them with you wherever you go on your phone to strengthen you when fear tries to knock you to your knees and drag you down.
2. Ask God to help you be courageous like David when faced with fear that seems as destructive and powerful as a bear, or a giant, or a mad King. During these fearful times, practice leaning on Him rather than giving in to fearful thoughts.
3. Find some Christian autobiographies to read, ones of individuals who relied on their faith in God over the fears they were facing in their lives. Read them to help encourage you in your own faith-over-fear battles.

In this episode of the Unhurried Living Podcast, Alan Fadling reflects on four striking insights from Frederick Faber’s Spiritual Conferences, a classic work of Christian spiritual formation. These timeless passages speak directly into our modern struggle with busyness, pressure, and spiritual exhaustion.
Alan explores the surprising rhythm of the saints who “did few things,” the invitation to savor grace rather than rush past it, the deeper measure of our work in God’s eyes, and the way hurry can cloud our vision of God.
If you long for a more grounded, spacious, and unhurried life with God, this episode offers gentle guidance and a clear path forward.

Prayer can feel perplexing—especially for Believers who want their words to shape eternity for their children and families. But what if you learned that unanswered prayers aren’t a sign of God’s absence, but an invitation to “lay the tracks” for His will on earth?
In this episode, Catherine joins forces with prayer advocate and author Jaime Hampton, co-host of the Praying Christian Women Podcast, to explore the deepest mysteries and highest privileges of prayer, guided by the wisdom of Watchman Nee’s landmark book Let Us Pray.
Together, they uncover why some prayers feel fruitless, how to discern God’s heart, and what it takes to persevere through spiritual bottlenecks. Drawing from personal stories—including Catherine’s journey to miraculous parenthood and Jaime’s awakening to the power of partnership in faith—they offer honest, hope-filled wisdom for anyone longing to pray with purpose.
Key Takeaways
"Prayer doesn’t alter God’s plans; it achieves what He’s already foreordained. Without persistent, faith-filled prayer, His resolutions may go suspended."
– Watchman Nee (Let Us Pray)
Tune In & Reflect
Are you willing to be God’s partner in prayer—laying the tracks for His will in your family’s life? Or will you let unanswered prayers and spiritual discouragement be the bottleneck to His miraculous work?

Today’s Bible Verse: “I will tell of the kindnesses of the Lord, the deeds for which he is to be praised, according to all the Lord has done for us—yes, the many good things he has done for Israel, according to his compassion and many kindnesses.” — Isaiah 63:7
Isaiah 63:7 calls us to remember—and to speak aloud—the goodness of God. This verse reminds us that gratitude is not passive reflection but active testimony. God’s kindness, compassion, and faithfulness are meant to be recalled, celebrated, and shared.

In today’s episode, Bonnie shares a deeply personal story about injury, slowing down, and learning to walk in a new way — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
This episode will help you release pressure, listen to your body, and step into a gentler, more life-giving way of living — one step at a time.

A Prayer for the Joy of Being by Nicolet Bell
There is a sacred invitation found in Psalm 46:10—to be still before the Lord.In today's episode by Nicolet Bell, she reflects on those first few weeks of welcoming a new baby boy. As a self-described “doer,” this episode explores how difficult—and necessary—it is to slow down and simply be. Through the ancient practice of breath prayers, we’re reminded that stillness is not passive but deeply formative. Whether in seasons of grief or joy, our need for God’s presence remains the same. This episode invites us to breathe deeply, trust God’s sovereignty, and rest in the truth that He is at work—even when we are not.
Reference: Psalm 46:10
Prayer: Be still and know, and that He is God. Be still and know that he is God. Father, whether we find ourselves today in a season of grief, a season of joy, or somewhere in between, may you help us to experience the joy of being- being found in your presence being known by you.
