  • Your Daily Bible Verse - Why Hope Is for Our Good (Lamentations 3:25)

    Today’s Bible Verse:
"The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;" — Lamentations 3:25

Lamentations 3:25 is a quiet yet powerful reminder that God’s goodness meets us in seasons of waiting. In the midst of sorrow and uncertainty, Jeremiah declares that hope and seeking the Lord are never wasted. God’s timing may stretch us, but His goodness is steady and sure.

  • Faith Over Fear - the Dragon Prophesy: Increasing Faith Through Biblical Prophesy

In this episode of Faith Over Fear, Carol McCracken welcomes Debbie D’Souza to discuss The Dragon’s Prophecy, a timely new film exploring how ancient biblical battles echo in today’s conflicts in the Middle East. Debbie shares what initially struck her about the film’s message, how she has learned to navigate the tension between fear and faith when it comes to prophecy, and what encouragement she offers to those feeling anxious about world events. Together, Carol and Debbie explore what it means to resist evil without becoming evil, the importance of naming sin without demonizing people, and how American Christians can respond to this moment in history in ways that are rooted in prayer, faithfulness, and hope rather than politics.

Disclaimer: In this episode, our guest briefly discusses the Gaza/Israeli conflict, particularly from an Israeli perspective. We at Faith Over Fear recognize both sides have experienced cruelty and harm at the hands of the other, as is often the case with long-standing conflicts. We do not condone or endorse violence, nor is this episode an endorsement for such. Rather, it is a guest sharing her perspective related to the conflict and biblical threads she sees woven through it. If today's episode upsets you, please don't hesitate to reach out to Jennifer through her website JenniferSlatteryLivesOutLoud.com

From the Dragon Prophesy website: Creators "bring history, current events and bible prophecy together in a stunning and original film to illustrate the true meaning of October 7, anti-Semitism, terrorism, and the hidden forces that battle endlessly for the ultimate prize, which is the human soul – your soul. The film ends with an inspiring call to action to Jews and Christians to return to their roots and stand up for good and resist evil." In theaters on October 8th and streamed through Salem on October 9th.

    Discussion/Reflective Questions:

    1. When you hear about prophecy in Scripture, do you respond more with curiosity, fear, or faith—and why?

    2. How do you personally discern the difference between healthy vigilance and anxiety when following world events?

    3. In your daily life, what does it mean to resist evil without letting bitterness or anger take root in your own heart?

    4. How can you practice compassion for people caught in conflict while still standing firm against sin and injustice?

    5. What role do you believe prayer plays in how believers engage with unfolding global events?

    6. How might you faithfully respond to these times in ways that go beyond political opinions?

  • The Love Offering - Relief for Your Overwhelm: A Conversation with Jamie Erickson

Have you ever felt like motherhood is one long balancing act—caught between trying to do it all and letting it all go? One minute the world tells us to chase Pinterest perfection, and the next, it applauds chaos culture and “Hot Mess Mombie” pride. But both extremes leave us weary, guilt-ridden, and longing for something more sustainable.

This week on The Love Offering Podcast, I had the joy of talking with Jamie Erickson about her new book, Overwhelmed Mom. Jamie offers a breath of grace for the woman who’s tired of running on empty. Through biblical wisdom and practical tools, she helps us push back against the weariness epidemic that so often defines motherhood—and invites us to find peace, purpose, and presence right where we are.

Jamie reminds us that reshaping a harried life isn’t about hustling harder or giving up completely—it’s about heart work, not just hard work. It’s learning to edit our lives with intention, create rhythms that bring rest, and rediscover the joy of the calling God has given us as mothers.

If you’ve been feeling burdened by your to-do list or buried under expectations (your own or everyone else’s), this conversation is for you. You don’t have to live overwhelmed—you can live overcome through Christ.

And as always, you can find more encouragement and resources to help you live out your faith and love others well at rachaelkadams.com.

A Prayer to Say Yes to Jesus' Invitation

Jesus reminds us that apart from Him, we can do nothing. Just as a branch cannot survive without the vine, we cannot bear fruit without staying connected to Christ. IIn today's episode, Tara Cole reminds us that abiding in Jesus isn’t just a once-a-week practice, but a continual, life-giving connection that nourishes, strengthens, and sustains us.

    Reference: John 15: 4-5

Prayer: Jesus, thank you so much for your invitation to Abide in You. Help us to Abide in You and to stay connected to You constantly throughout the day so that we can do more than we could ever do on our own. Please strengthen us for what lies ahead in our day today. In Jesus' name, amen.

    Be True Peacemakers

    By: Michelle Lazurek

    Bible Reading:

“If your brother or sister sins,  go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.” Matthew 18:14-18

In a previous church, concerns were raised about relationships within the church. When my husband sat down with the leaders, we quickly knew this was no ordinary meeting. As each person spoke, it was clear that rumors and gossip had been flying for quite a while. While there were grains of truth to some statements and outright lies in others, one thing was clear:

No one had confronted my husband directly.

Once the rumors were cleared up, and the situation went back to normal, we couldn't help but reel from the fact that people choose to gossip and spread rumors and lies, disparaging my husband's reputation, with no thought or consideration to him at all. If they had come to him, he could have cleared the air, and we could have been spared much more time and energy working to dispel rumors and working toward the Kingdom. After that, it was clear there was a lack of trust from both sides.

Matthew, in his gospel, outlines a straightforward way to lovingly confront someone, point out their sin, and work toward reconciliation and purity of the church. Although many people take the above verse as the model for conflict resolution, that's not the purpose for which it was written. It was written for people to point out someone's sin so that the purity of the church ca

  • Your Daily Prayer - A Prayer to Rejoice and Be Glad on This Day

Fall leaves remind us how beauty and brevity often go hand in hand. As our daily prayer and devotional remind us, the brilliant colors of autumn are breathtaking, yet fleeting—lasting only a short season before they wither and fall. Whitney Hopler connects this truth to the gift of each day: time is temporary, and the opportunities God gives us only come once.

Too often, we miss those gifts. We get caught up in stress, worry, or distractions, focusing on yesterday’s mistakes or tomorrow’s uncertainties. But Psalm 118:24 reminds us that God calls us to live fully in this day, to rejoice in the present moment because He made it and is with us in it.

Rejoicing isn’t about ignoring pain or pretending life is easy. It’s about choosing joy because of God’s presence. Even when circumstances are difficult, His faithfulness gives us reason to be glad. Each day holds blessings—whether in laughter with loved ones, a sunset, or the simple joy of God’s peace. We can train our eyes to notice His goodness in the ordinary.

Like fall leaves, today is precious because it won’t come again. When we choose to rejoice, we stop clinging to yesterday and worrying about tomorrow. We live fully, gratefully, and joyfully in the presence of God today.

    Today's Bible Reading

"This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." – Psalm 118:24, ESV

    Key Takeaways

    • Each day is a gift from God and an opportunity to rejoice in Him.

    • Joy is not dependent on perfect circumstances but on God’s faithful presence.

    • Living fully today means noticing and embracing everyday blessings.

    • Choosing gladness builds a life rooted in gratitude and trust in God.

    Let’s Pray Together

Dear God, thank You for making this day and giving it to me. Forgive me for the times I’ve let worry or busyness keep me from noticing Your blessings. Open my eyes to see Your goodness in the ordinary and teach me to rejoice, even when life is difficult. Help me to live fully in today, trusting in Your presence as my reason for joy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  • Your Nightly Prayer: Evening Prayers for Christian... - Learning to Love the Life You Have

Contentment isn’t natural—it must be learned. As our evening prayer and devotional remind us, in our culture of striving and scrolling, it’s easy to believe happiness comes only with the “next best thing.” Social media highlights often amplify our discontent, drawing our focus to what we lack rather than what we have.

That’s why Paul’s words in Philippians 4 are so powerful. He didn’t write them from a place of ease or abundance, but from prison. His chains remind us that contentment isn’t based on circumstances—it’s a matter of perspective.

Comparison may whisper, “You’re behind, you’re forgotten, you’ll only be happy if life looks like theirs.” But God’s truth counters with something better: “Even if this season looks different from what you dreamed, I am still working. Even if you’re still waiting, your life is still sacred and good.”

Contentment grows slowly, often through tears, especially when life involves loss or waiting. But joy isn’t only found in what we gain; it’s also discovered in how God carries us through what we’ve lost. Tonight, instead of longing for the next season, choose to notice the blessings of right now. There is goodness here.

    Tonight’s Scripture: Philippians 4:11b

“I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.”

    Your Nightly Prayer

    Lord,
I confess it’s hard to love the life I have sometimes. It’s painful to see others thriving in areas where I still wait. I feel forgotten. Help me to love this life—the one I have today. Teach me to find beauty in the ordinary, purpose in the waiting, and joy even in the midst of loss. Quiet the comparisons in my heart and show me that this season is still sacred. Forgive me for focusing more on what’s missing than on the blessings in front of me. Tonight, I choose gratitude for the roof over my head, the people I love, and the breath in my lungs. Thank You for walking with me through every season. I trust You with today, tomorrow, and all that lies ahead.
    In Jesus’ name,
    Amen.

    Three Things to Meditate Upon

    1. What small blessings in your life have you overlooked? Pause and thank God for three of them today.

    2. In what areas has comparison stolen your joy? How can you invite God’s presence into those spaces?

    3. What distractions or habits stir discontentment in your life, and how might you release them to make more room for peace?

    Calls to Action

    • Take a few minutes tonight to list three blessings from your current season.

    • Share this devotion with a friend who struggles with comparison or discontentment.
