He knows our name. Let’s share his name!
    1. God knows your name.
    -’What is your name?’
(Luke 8:27, 30) When Jesus stepped ashore, he was met by a demon-possessed man from the town. For a long time this man had not worn clothes or lived in a house, but had lived in the tombs. (30) Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” “Legion,” he replied, because many demons had gone into him.
(Exodus 3:4) When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.”
(Acts 9:4) He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”
    2. God sets you free.
(Luke 8:33)When the demons came out of the man, they went into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned.
    3. What would Jesus say to a person who is forgiven and set free?
-’Go home and tell everything God did in you’
(Luke 8:35-36/NCV) And people went to see what had happened. When they came to Jesus, they found the man sitting at Jesus’ feet, clothed and in his right mind, because the demons were gone. But the people were frightened. (36) The people who saw this happen told the others how Jesus had made the man well.
(Luke 8:39/The Message) “Go home and tell everything God did in you.” So he went back and preached all over town everything Jesus had done in him.
(2 Corinthian 5:17) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
(Psalm 40:3)He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.

    Servants and Friends of Jesus
(John 15:13-17) There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. (14) You are my friends if you do what I command. (15) I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. (16) You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. (17) This is my command: Love each other.
-We need to understand Jesus’ world – understand ‘servants’ and ‘friends’.
1.Boughtout of the slave market with a price
(1 Corinthians 6:20) for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
(1 Corinthians 7:23) God paid a high price for you, so don’t be enslaved by the world.
-free from the old sadness and chains.
-start the journey with a loving master.
    2.Decision to be a ‘freed servant’ ‘
(Exodus 21:5-6) But the slave may declare, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children. I don’t want to go free.’ (6) If he does this, his master must present him before God. Then his master must take him to the door or doorpost and publicly pierce his ear with an awl. After that, the slave will serve his master for life.
(Luke 17:7-10) “When a servant comes in from plowing or taking care of sheep, does his master say, ‘Come in and eat with me’? (8) No, he says, ‘Prepare my meal, put on your apron, and serve me while I eat. Then you can eat later.’ (9) And does the master thank the servant for doing what he was told to do? Of course not. (10) In the same way, when you obey me you should say, ‘We are unworthy servants who have simply done our duty.’”
-part of Jesus team and mission
    -loved and cared for.
    -thankful to serve Jesus.
    3.Invitation to be a friend
(John 15:13-17) There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. (14) You are my friends if you do what I command. (15) I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything t

    We are God’s handiwork
(Ephesians 2:10 NIV) For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
    You are God’s work
(Genesis 1:1-4 NIV) In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. 3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.
(Genesis 1:27, 31 NIV) So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. 31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.
(Isaiah 43:1 NIV) But now, this is what the Lord says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
    God made you with purpose.
We are made to walk with Jesus in our mission good works)
(John 14:5-6 NIV) Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
(Hebrews 11:3 NIV) By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
Be changed into having the nature that Jesus gives us
(Matthew 20:28 NIV) just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
(2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV) And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

    What we need most
(Luke 10:38-42 NIV) As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” 41 the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Even you can’t do anything, God accepts you
(Ephesians 1:5 NLT) God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.
(Luke 6:38 NIV)Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
    The heart of blaming others
(Romans 12:8 NLT) If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
What you really need, a heart to follow Jesus
(Matthew 6:33 NIV)But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
(Matthew 19:21 NIV)Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
(John 10:27 NIV) My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

    God is our Dad
(Luke 15:18-24 NIV)I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ 20 So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. 21“The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ 22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.
-the actions his father took were far above any words said. It showed the fathers true heart
    1. I i forgave you ages ago!
    - the father RAN to meet, hug and welcome his son
(John 3:17 NLT) God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
(Hebrews 10:17 NIV) Then he adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.”
    - If Jesus believes the cross, we can believe we’re forgiven
    2. No matter what, you ARE me sons /daughter
-the son said “i am not worthy to be called your son.”, the father prepared a party as if to ignore him!
(1 John 3:2a NIV)Dear friends, now we are children of God,
(Luke 12:6-7 NIV) Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
-many people make many mistakes. Some become good experiences, some scar you, and you lose confidence.
    3. I have a special future prepared for you
(Matthew 6:8 NIV) Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

    Your faith has healed you
(Mark 5:25-34 NIV) And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. 26 She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, 28 because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” 29 Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. 30 At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?” 31 “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ” 32 But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 33 Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. 34 He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”
All things begin from realizing and seeking
(1 Timothy 1:15 NIV) Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.
(2 Corinthians 12:10 NIV) That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
(Matthew 7:7 NIV) “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
Believing that all you need to do is to touch Jesus to be healed
(Luke 7:7-9 NIV) That is why I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed. 8 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” 9 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel.”
(Colossians 1:16 NIV) For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created thro

You are called to inherit the blessings
(1 Peter 3:8-9 NIV) Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. 9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
    United heart
(Acts 2:46-47 NIV)Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
(Matthew 18:19 NIV)“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.
Know how the other person is feeling and love each other
(Colossians 3:12 NIV)Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
    Humility from God
(Proverbs 22:4 NIV)Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life.
(John 1:12 NIV)Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God
    Givers of forgiveness and blessings
(John 14:26 NIV)But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
(Romans 5:5 NIV)And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

  • My Grace Is Sufficient for You

My grace is sufficient for you
(2 Corinthians 12:8-10 NIV) Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
The best that God has for you is the best for you
(Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
(Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV)“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. 9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
(Proverbs 19:21 NIV)Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
God will change your weakness into your strength
If God is with you, you’ll be able to accomplish things beyond what you’re capable of.
(Joshua 1:5, 9 NIV)No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
(1 Corinthians 2:9 NIV)However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” — the things God has prepared for those who love him—
It’s within the problems, your faith can grow
(1 Peter 1:6-9 NIV)In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
(1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV)And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

    Keep It Simple
(1 Corinthians 1:17/NLT) For Christ didn’t send me to baptize, but to preach the Good News-and not with clever speech, for fear that the cross of Christ would lose its power.
(1 Corinthians 4:20/NLT) For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God’s power.
-The power of God is found in the simplicity of the cross.
3 reasons why we keep it simple:
    1. It Leads to The Best Life
(Matthew 6:31-33/NLT) “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ (32) These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. (33) Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
    2. Jesus Kept it Simple
(Matthew 22:35-40/NLT) One of them, an expert in religious law, tried to trap him with this question: (36) “Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?” (37) Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ (38) This is the first and greatest commandment. (39) A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ (40) The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
    3. Simply Knowing Jesus Makes Us Complete
(Colossians 2:8-10/NLT) Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. (9) For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. (10) So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.
(Colossians 2:3/NLT) In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

    The Power of Attitude
    Honour, Influence and a Decision
After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully. When he received these orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks. About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose. The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. But Paul shouted, “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!” The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized. The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his whole household. When it was daylight, the magistrates sent their officers to the jailer with the order: “Release those men.” The jailer told Paul, “The magistrates have ordered that you and Silas be released. Now you can leave. Go in peace.” But Paul said to the officers: “They beat us publicly without a trial, even though we are Roman citizens, and threw us into prison. And now do they want to get rid of us quietly? No! Let them come themselves and escort us out.” The officers reported this to the magistrates, and when they heard that Paul and Silas were Roman citizens, they were alarmed. They came to appease them and escorted them from the prison, requesting them to leave the city. (Acts 16:23-39 NIV)
