We must never forget that we fight not against flesh and blood, but against the powers and principalities arrayed against us. This does not excuse us from poor thinking or acting, but it does mean that we must stay on guard and be aware.

God calls us to faithfulness, even when he is about to test us. Peace and rest are promises for heaven, not necessarily for earth. Here we have work to do that may bring about painful trials, including poverty, injustice, and suffering.

While there is need to suffer, endure, test those who are false (and not tolerate their evil), and even hate particular teachings, we must not neglect our "first love" in the process.

A revelation for Christ's church is about to be revealed. It will come from Christ himself. He reigns supreme, and he walks among his people.

We do well when we send out missionaries in a manner worthy of God. We must send them out cared for, prayed for, and well provisioned.

Paul and his companions' labor in gospel ministry was not in vain. The Thessalonians heard it, received it, and its impact upon them was visible and obvious. The gospel creates changed lives.

We cannot know everything, nor will God explain everything to us. Mysteries abound in our faith. We must learn to quiet our minds and take God at his word. Some things will be known with certainty in the consummation.

Chaos and cacophony rule when comfort is pursued apart from and outside of the person and work of Christ.

Our true treasure lies ahead of us, not with us nor behind us. Life is far less stressful if we focus on realities and not fantasies. You cannot provide for yourself here with certainty, but God offers you true security, and peace.
