God makes all things new. He is about taking the brokenness brought on by sin and offering a new reality. God’s plans for a believer’s eternity are staggering in immensity and joy. We will exist forever on a new earth—a reality more alive than our present existence. While the thought of “another world” can be overwhelming, it can also create godly anticipation. We are meant to be motivated by eternity and all that awaits us.

Habits can have a profound impact on our lives in both good and bad ways. And often, we’re unaware of how much we do in our lives simply by force of habit. We’ll discuss how modern behavioral science is catching up to what the church has known for thousands of years regarding habits. We’ll discuss how to break bad habits, establish good ones, and how this can have a hugely beneficial impact regarding our personal spiritual transformation into Christlikeness.

Songs are powerful things. The combine melody and harmony. They express both truth and emotion. They can fill us with joy and hope or with lament and sorrow. Through the beauty of song we worship, we celebrate, and we mourn. In the Psalms, the worship songs of the Bible, we are told that God gives us a new song to sing. What is this song? Where does it come from? How do we sing it?

Living without purpose is not really living at all. When you find new life in Christ, you can then find a new purpose—an investment of your life that makes sense and brings glory to God. If someone asked, “What is your purpose in life?” how would you respond? Those of us connected to Jesus can have a ready and meaningful answer to that question. The specific answers may vary slightly. But nothing should stop us from living life on purpose.

It’s easy for us to become consumed with what happens to us and around us. We spend so much time and energy on managing our circumstances that we begin to think those circumstances define us. After thinking this way for a while, we eventually believe that those old parts of us can never change. But God paints a different picture in the Bible. In this message, we’ll see what God has to say about how those old things can and should pass away because He has new things for us in Christ!

Whenever we head into a new normal, there is usually an old normal we have to contend with first. We transition into a new normal when an old normal no longer works or the new normal is significantly better. This week, we’ll discuss a new command Jesus gives his disciples while identifying an old and familiar command. As we look at the ways the old normal doesn’t always work, we’ll better see how significantly better the new normal really is.

There is a powerful connection between how we think and how we live. We’re not always aware of those connections, but what we think about and how we think about it directs our actions and responses. The Bible draws a direct connection between spiritual transformation and the renewing of our minds. This means that how we think and what we think about are central to living as followers of Jesus.

We all had a beginning. You entered the world in a moment of time. And just like a physical birth, so too, you need a spiritual birth. You may be a child who is only a few years old or an adult well into your later years. But you need to experience new life through a new birth. When that happens, you begin a new normal. Your new beginning is not about signing on the dotted line or promising to behave yourself. It is new life imparted to you and given as a gift. And it means you have moved from the old normal to the new normal.
