Da'Quan takes the time to explain how being a gay black man has come with a lot of struggles. As a young boy he knew he was different and was able to be open with his feelings. He grew up defending his sexuality and trying to grow explain to people that he should not be judged by his sexuality. He never wanted to be put in a box and wanted people to accept him for who he was and not who he wanted to date. As a young adult and joining the work force, he realized that he cannot control how people feel about him. He states that if you live by peoples acceptance than you will die by their rejection. He says to love yourself and you will know what it is like to be free. He has taken a chance on believing in himself and realized that what the world has to realize is that you do not have to conform to what the world wants. Take chances and see that you can become whoever you want to be if you work hard enough.

Emanie is a content creator, safe space facilitator, and a woman who is passionate about advocating for her community. She speaks on how therapy has helped her over the years and got her out of her dark space. She speaks about how her traumatic experiences as a youth has impacted her as an adult and she is able to relate and help people live a more fulfilling life in the midst of overcoming their own mental brick wall. The first step was understanding that she had to forgive herself before she could forgive those who caused her harm in her past. Therapy is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign of growth and understanding that no one is perfect and everyone can speak their truth without the cultural stigma of it being a sign of weakness.
