So after 3 weeks of going deeper in our understanding of the cross, how are we meant to live? We explore Jesus' words to deny ourselves and take up our cross.

The cross accomplished 2 different things according to Scripture. In order to understand our salvation, both of these are equally important to grasp.

In the second installment of the series, Ps Nate discusses what is so bad about sin. The issue here is that if Jesus' death was so catastrophic, then it was remedying something equally catastrophic - sin.

Today we display crosses on our walls and as jewelry, and it might have contributed to the sense that the cross is quite normal. But the cross was anything but normal in Jesus' times. In fact the cross was downright scandalous.
