  • Setting Light By Father and Mother
Honoring father and mother is a lifelong command from God, carrying a promise of blessing and a serious responsibility to show respect, gratitude, and practical care. To "set light by" parents is to treat them with contempt, dismiss their worth, or regard their needs as an unwanted burden. Religious gifts, church attendance, and outward devotion cannot replace obedience to this command. Honor does not require pretending that parents have never done wrong, but their failures do not excuse personal wrongdoing or remove each person's accountability before God. Forgiveness and a refusal to act out of bitterness are essential, even in difficult family relationships. Children need to be taught this respect from their earliest years, and that responsibility continues into adulthood, especially when aging parents need care and assistance. Honoring parents is a foundational part of love and order in the home and society. God takes both its observance and its violation seriously, and genuine love for Him must reach beyond religious words into the way parents are treated.

  • 1 Kings Part 1
This sermon traces the trajectory of Solomon's reign in 1 Kings, illustrating how righteousness exalts a nation while sin leads to its downfall. It highlights Solomon's initial wisdom and the prosperity of his kingdom as a foreshadowing of Christ's future millennial reign, where peace and knowledge of the Lord will fill the earth. The message contrasts Solomon's early devotion with his later apostasy, describing him as a double-minded man who ultimately broke the covenant despite having received great light. The preacher emphasizes that God remains faithful to both His promises of blessing and His warnings of judgment, holding individuals accountable for the revelation they have received. Ultimately, the sermon points to Jesus Christ as the one greater than Solomon, who will fulfill all divine promises and reign in perfect righteousness.

  • Session #2: Isaiah 1-5
This sermon examines Isaiah chapters 1 through 5 as a foundational introduction to the book, highlighting the stark contrast between God's holiness and Israel's persistent rebellion. The text presents a divine courtroom scene where God condemns hollow religious rituals and widespread sin, yet offers a profound promise of cleansing for those who genuinely repent. The analysis traces the theological arc from judgment and national catastrophe to the future restoration of Zion, identifying the 'Branch of the Lord' as the Messiah who embodies both divine and human ancestry. By connecting the failed vineyard of Israel to Jesus as the true vine, the message emphasizes that God's purpose is accomplished through the smelting of dross and the ultimate redemption of His people. The tone is both convicting and hopeful, urging the audience to examine their own hearts in light of God's greatness and the sufficiency of Christ's provision.

It warns believers about the deceptive nature of Satan, who disguises himself as an angel of light and uses false teachings to distract the church from biblical truth. The message calls for a return to fervent prayer and submission to God as the primary defense against spiritual attacks and internal divisions. It further encourages believers to reject the burden of past sins by embracing their identity as new creations in Christ, while maintaining a steadfast commitment to the Word of God amidst cultural distractions.

  • 896 Light and Salt (Proverbs 26:4-5) Our Daily Greg
There is a good deal of confusion about these two verses in Proverbs, as well as just a general confusion on the issues raised due to false and/or inaccurate teaching. We will let Scripture clear up the matter. Also Reference: Titus 1:13, Matthew 5:16, Luke 14:34, Colossians 4:6 https://bbfohio.com

  • Warning! Coven Academy to be Released
Dr. David Brown, Pastor Emeritus of the First Baptist Church in Oak Creek, has a Masters in Theology and a Ph.D in History, specializing in the history of the English Bible. In addition to his study of the English Bible, he's also president of Logos Communications Consortium. For years he has conducted research on witchcraft, the occult, fantasy role playing games and The Dark Side of Halloween. Note this from I Peter 5:8, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." Satan is subtle. Scripture refers to him as the "god of this world", as "the prince of the power of the air" as "the father of lies" as a "destroyer", as one who is "the deceiver of the whole world," and yet as one who transforms himself "as an angel of light." With this in mind, this edition of Crosstalk comes as a warning concerning a new series coming out first on Freeform then on Disney+, Hulu, and Freeform On Demand. It's called Coven Academy which reportedly "follows three teenage witches and their dangerously charming warlock peers an at elite magic school where power is currency, secrets are lethal, and attraction is a liability." So become informed and hear the background of the characters behind Coven Academy, excerpts from the trailer, why the concepts of good witches/bad witches and white magic/black magic are false, and finally how Scripture clearly shows that this program is promoting the occult.
