  • Lifted Up From the Earth
The sermon centers on John 12:32, dissecting the verse into three components to reveal the identity and work of Jesus Christ. It begins by establishing the divine nature of the 'I' through Old Testament prophecies regarding His timing, location, and virgin birth, emphasizing that He is Immanuel, God with us. The message then shifts to the necessity of Christ's perfect life, arguing that His sinless existence is as vital to salvation as His death, fulfilling the law that humanity has broken. The core theological argument focuses on the cross as the place where God's justice and love meet, illustrated by the substitutionary atonement where Jesus bore the wrath of God in place of sinners. The preacher warns against idolatry and the dilution of the gospel, urging listeners to recognize that the heart of man remains unchanged and requires a pure, biblical message. The sermon concludes with an urgent call to repentance, emphasizing the brevity of time and the eternal consequences of rejecting the light of Christ while it is still available.
