Light the Lamp

Alexis Downie takes a look at the Anaheim Ducks win on Thursday in Columbus as they continue their road trip. Downie then goes through goal calls from around the league, and the full roster ahead of All-Star Weekend. Later in the show, The Athletic's Shayna Goldman joined to talk through including data analysis and video in hockey coverage, being a part of the Too Many Men podcast and what she's excited to see in the NHL All-Star Game (11:51).

The Anaheim Ducks have begun their 6-game road trip and have already completed the part in the state of Pennsylvania. Alexis Downie recaps the back-to-back games from the start of the week, while looking ahead to the upcoming game on Thursday in Columbus. Downie then shares some NHL news and recent goal calls. Later, on voice of the Ducks, Steve Carroll, joins the show for the second time while on the road to discuss his gameday routine, preparation in calling games and his thoughts on the recent play on the ice (12:46).

In a special edition of Light the Lamp, Alexis Downie recorded from the 2023 Anaheim Ducks Day at Disneyland California Adventure Park on Thursday, January 12th. Downie introduces the day before sharing an interview with Ducks In-Arena Host Ally Kay (2:10). Later on, players Kevin Shattenkirk (5:03), Sam Carrick (7:52), Ryan Strome (10:16) and Frank Vatrano (12:26) joined to talk about the day.

At the halfway point of the NHL season, Alexis Downie goes through the league standings. Afterwards, Downie looks back at the World Junior Championship by welcoming NHL.com's Mike Morreale (2:54) on the show, where he details his experience and observations from the tournament. Later in the show, Kent French is joined by local artist Joe Suzuki (25:36) who talks through his passion for art and the process for his design of the Lunar New Years poster.

Alexis Downie recaps a weekend of Anaheim Ducks hockey by breaking down action from the last 2 games, including their overtime win over the San Jose Sharks on Friday. Head Coach Dallas Eakins can be heard for Friday (5:24) and Sunday's (8:34) postgame. Downie also shares news about Ducks prospects and big goal calls from the NHL recently. Later, the original Mighty Duck of Anaheim, Guy Hebert, joined the show to talk about his days playing, his passion for art and his experience now as a broadcaster (16:57).

Alexis Downie is joined by the Keeper of the Cup and Curator of the Hockey Hall of Fame, Phil Pritchard, to talk through his journey in keeping the Stanley Cup, stories from the '07 Ducks win and plenty more (1:45).

In the first episode of the New Year, Alexis Downie takes a look at the Anaheim Ducks matchup on Wednesday night against the Dallas Stars. The first game for John Klingberg against his former team (03:16). Downie later goes through highlights from the Winter Classic and other calls from games around the NHL. Bally Sports Southwest sideline reporter Michelle McMahon joins the show to share more on the Dallas Stars this season and her passion for pickleball (14:02).

As we close out 2022, Alexis Downie takes some time to reflect back on the launch and first three months of Ducks Stream, doing a best of show! Throughout the episode, Downie details some of her favorite moments on the stream to date.
