At this point in Jesus’ ministry His popularity has diminished greatly, particularly among the devout Jews.

He is about to enter a season of intense difficulty, culminating with the cross.

From this moment forward, Jesus will be enabling his disciples to continue in His absence and preparing for the cross.

: In our study of the ministry of the Holy Spirit we understand that every believer is indwelt by the Holy Spirit at the moment of salvation.

We also find that there are several direct commands from the Scripture concerning the Spirit of God and believers.

Tonight, we want to look at one of them, Quench Not the Spirit.

Jesus posed to the disciples – whom do ye say that I am?

How we respond to that question will have eternal implications.

It is a question that all must answer, and one that is impossible to avoid.

Those who refuse to deal with the question have in essence chosen to reject Jesus as the Christ.

Good Fathers are good, godly men. We are in desperate need for good, godly men today.

: Our text today reveals great spiritual truth. While everyone cannot identify with physical blindness, we can relate to the spiritual blindness all deal with prior to salvation.

: Our text opens with an encounter with the Pharisees and closes with an intimate moment of teaching the disciples.

Jesus sought to instill truth in the disciples by revealing the genuine motives of the Pharisees, but they failed to comprehend the truth He conveyed.

: Many don’t believe, but those who have experienced His touch declare that Jesus has done all things well.

: What does the Bible say about being a godly mother and helping that mother to have a beautiful home.
