In honor of Valentines (or, as we prefer,GALentines) we’re doing two rom-coms! But, these aren’t exactly remakes are they?
It’s our podcast and we make the rules.
This time we’re looking at a leading couple in the early 2000s who made several movies together. The movies areThe Wedding Singerand 50 First Dates, and our actors are Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler.
The Wedding Singer(1998) features wedding singer Robbie (Sandler) and a wedding reception waitress Julia (Barrymore) who are both engaged, but to the wrong people.
50 First Dates(2004) centers around Henry Roth (Sandler) who is afraid of commitment until he meets Lucy (Barrymore). Henry thinks he’s found the perfect girl, until discovering she has a condition where she forgets the day every night, and sees him as a stranger the next day.

On each episode we’ll look at a movie and its remake, or sometimes a movie and its sequel, to determine if Hollywood rehashed it for a reason or for a cash grab.
