Emotional eating is an issue that affects more people than we often realise. It's often too easy to turn to food for comfort during stressful and emotionally difficult times, making us feel like we will never be able to break the cycle.
Having struggled with this issue myself, I wanted to talk about it on the podcast to prove that you can find a way to work through and manage emotional eating, even if it feels like you never will. Nutrition and weight loss advisor, Jen Kay, helped me to take control of my emotional eating and that's why I couldn't think of a better person to invite onto the show to talk about this topic in more detail. Jen helps women to ditch diets and transform themselves physically and mentally without restrictions. Working alongside her partner, Phil, Jen helps women to build their confidence and a healthier lifestyle.

We all have a daily routine, and maybe even a weekly fitness routine, but do you have one for your mental health?
This episode, mental health advocate, Daragh, joins me to talk about his mental health routine and the impact it has had on his life since implementing it a few years ago.
Daragh, from Cork in Ireland, uses his instagram page, Thoughts 2 Big, to normalise the chat around mental health and help people build daily routines for their wellbeing. Daragh set up the page in tribute to his best friend who died by suicide at the age of 17.

We all have ambitions in life and, for most of us, to be happy is one of them.
Professor Paul McGee joined me to talk about happiness and how you can embrace daily habits and practices to help you live your best life. Paul is a Sunday Times bestselling author and an internationally sought-after keynote speaker and performance coach from the UK.
Paul and his co-author, Dr Andy Cope, recently wrote and released the Happiness Revolution. In the book, they outline a 10-point Happiness Manifesto grounded in the science of human flourishing and the reality of life and provide plenty of simple and practical principles designed to have a positive impact on your life.

Having a miscarriage can be a very emotional, isolating and confusing experience. There is far too much stigma that surrounds this subject, especially the impact it can have on your mental health and wellbeing.
This isn't a topic that I have personally experienced so I called on Alexia from Utah, America, to help me understand the impact losing her child during pregnancy had on her and her family's life.
Alexia is an advocate for miscarriage awareness and uses her Instagram page to highlight the importance of making pregnancy loss a mainstream conversation. She hopes the page will help others who are facing or have experienced a miscarriage to feel less alone.

Racism has no place in the modern world. If for some unbeknown reason you need convincing otherwise, anti-racism activist, Feiya Hu, joined me on the podcast to talk about racism in the UK and how racism can have an impact on the mental health and wellbeing of those who are discriminated against because of their race.
Feiya also tells us about her work as the co-founder of the amazing support network, Racism Unmasked Edinburgh, which aims to raise awareness about racism towards East and South East Asian people in the UK.

Self-love, and a lack of it, can have such a huge impact on all aspects of your life. Yes, I bang on about it ALL the time but that's because it's important, okay?! That's why I wanted to speak to Uncustomary (Mary) from uncustomary.org. Uncustomary is an author, artist and self-love coach from Baltimore in America and her aim, through her work, is to help people reconnect with their childlike fun.
As a self-love expert, I wanted to speak to Uncustomary about the dangers of not practising self-love and how we can make a conscious effort to show ourselves the love we deserve on a regular basis.

Well, wasn't 2020 a blast, hey?! It is hardly suprising that our mental health and wellbeing have taken quite a battering over the last 12 to 18 months which is why it is more important than ever that we learn how to look after ourselves and each other. That's why blogger and now podcaster (!!!), Soph Beresford, has decided to launch a mental health and wellbeing podcast to reassure you that you're not alone in the challenges you face, educate you on a wide range of topics relating to these areas and hopefully give you the coping mechanisms or inspiration you need to be the very best version of yourself.
Every episode, Soph will be joined by a special guest to talk about the stuff we all really should all care about - including you!
