On this week’s episode of Lil BUB’s Lil Show, we’re featuring three animals that are currently available for adoption through the City of Bloomington Animal Shelter: Constance, Frankie, and Mya!

Constance is a Husky between 6-7 years old. This sweet and silly girl would love to be adopted into a home with another dog. She is fairly shy on her own and may take a little time to warm up, so a canine pal could help her do that! Constance is currently living it up in a foster home with a canine foster brother and some kitty foster siblings. She loves being outdoors and going for walks, but also has a great time snuggling up and begging for pets when it’s time to settle down. She is super easy to get along with!

Frankie is a domestic shorthair kitten with orange and white fur. Frankie’s Foster states: “Sometimes kittens need a little extra time to fully appreciate the involvement of people in their life. It took Frankie some time, but he now fully loves people. He begins purring immediately upon being picked up. He loves his little neck rubbed. Frankie really likes to chase things, especially feathers on a string. Frankie has done really well with adult cats, and doesn’t seem to hassle them, like so many kittens can. He has been very patient waiting for the right family to come along, but he is ready.”

Mya is a sweet, loving little cat with gray and tan fur, between 6-7 years old. She is easy going and likes to stay snuggled up in her bed and lounge around. The shelter is just a little bit too loud and busy for her taste, so if you see her hiding, don’t be fooled! She is a sweetheart and once she settles into her new home you’ll have a perfect new friend. She enjoys the company of mature cats like her. She found younger, energetic pets too stressful to live with, but has happily cohabitated with older cats in the past.

Featured Animals: Bella and Harper

This week, we’re featuring two Bully Breed Mix senior dogs currently available for adoption through the City of Bloomington Animal Shelter: Bella and Harper.

Bella has one eye and a sweet, gentle, mature personality! She likes to lounge in the sun and walk slowly through the grass. She is good with children and easy to handle, plus she really loves a snuggly bed!

Harper is a sweet, older gentleman and the champion of all tennis balls. He has been politely hanging out in the shelter manager’s office: playing, eating snacks, and being an all-around nice dude!

Featured animal: Elf

Elf is a domestic short hair calico kitten, about 14 weeks old. Everyone’s first reaction when they meet Elf is to pity her semi-functional leg situation, but she takes offense to that! Although she uses her fourth leg differently than the rest of her legs, it doesn’t slow her down in the slightest. She’s the fastest of her litter and speeds around corners using that 4th leg for drifting. She can get a little freaked out when being picked up or held, because she doesn’t feel as stable as her siblings, but otherwise her leg is a non-issue! She has lived in a foster home with many other cats (of varying ages and tolerances for young kittens) and with large, loud dogs. Elf would make a great companion in a household that has older children who can be sensitive to how she needs handled, and with dogs/cats that will respect her boundaries since it’s a bit harder for her to get away from stimulus.

Featured Animals: Tally and Musa

Tally and Musa are a pair of sweethearts that met each other while in a foster home.

Tally, whose tail had been recently amputated, was recovering in a calm and quiet home when the very scared and timid Musa came to join him. The two were an instant match and have been inseparable ever since! Tally is a social boy that loves to talk with his people. He is super into food and head scratches, and he very proudly holds the title of “professional napper.”

Musa, on the other hand, prefers to let Tally get all the attention. She is a curious girl that is still a bit skittish with people, but she has been making a tremendous effort to be more social in her foster home. For Musa, this looks like her not hiding away at every chance she gets.

Tally and Musa love to cuddle and play together, and they almost always spend their time near one another. They are a wonderful and adorable duo that would love to find their forever home! Musa is part of the Bloomington Animal Shelter’s Catitude adoption program, and staff are happy to talk you through supporting a kitty like Musa.

Featured Animal: Maze

Maze is a sweet little kitten who is front and center in the cat kennels of the Bloomington Animal Shelter, with black fur and a little white patch on her chest.

Maze will proudly show off her big meow when she hears visitors coming to make sure everyone pays attention to her! She is SUPER playful too! She seems to be good with humans of all ages and has lived with other cats, but would need to live with other FeLV positive cats since Maze has tested positive for FeLV, or feline leukemia virus. Shelter staff would be happy to go over what this means with interested adopters!
