Limited Cel - A Generational Hanna-Barbera Cartoon Review Show

Oops, we get political. Watch out! Not so much political as it is just asking people to chill a bit. We try to stay middle of the road, but I’m sure some won’t see it that way. ANYWHOOOO Enjoy this “ideal” cartoon. Magilla Gorilla is really “ideal” if you get our hint. Please buy Ideal Toys’ toys. We totally aren’t sponsored by Ideal Toys®. Oh, we talk about other stuff as well…

Limited Cel is a brand new podcast where two generations of cartoon watchers sit down and watch ever series their favorite cartoon producers ever made. Join Nick (the son) and Mike (the dad) Wood as they watch, catalog, and review some of the best and the worst Hanna-Barbera has to offer.

Riding high on the success of the Flintstones, HB turned the concept on its head. Surprisingly, it didn’t work out as well as they had hoped. Oh well, we still liked it well enough. So join in with us!

The Hanna Barbera New Cartoon Series was a weird one… Not only was it not a traditionally marketed show like we’ve encountered so far, it had some of the weirdest character combinations to date. A fencing turtle and his sidekick, a sheep dog? Who comes up with this? I think we might have a King Sized Bong to blame…

Spaghetti: Meet wall. This is the start of a new era for Hanna-Barbara. That of throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks. If you haven’t heard of Top Cat, I would not be surprised. And that’s what we’re here for!

If you’ve been living in a cave for the last 50 years, you might not know who Yogi Bear is. To a lesser degree, you might not know who Snagglepuss is. You definitely don’t know who Yakky Doodle is. Sorry Yakky. We’ll talk about Yogi’s social implications, how Snagglepuss always steals the show, and how annoying Yakky Doodle is.

This week, we review the Hanna-Barbera class, The Flintstones. If you don’t know who the Flintstones are, you are either a zero-year-old or you’ve been living under a rock for the last 60 years. Sorry cave dweller, you’ve been missing out. First go take a shower, then watch some Flintstones.

This week, we review the exciting, slightly culturally insensitive show starring Quick Draw McGraw. We get a lot of other… questionable things from the Quick Draw McGraw Show. For example, the little jerk Augie Doggie, and his idiot father Doggie Daddy or the private eyes, Snooper and Blabber. Luckily, we get to see our favorite, Snagglepuss, and El Kabong! Also, Mike interrupt the show to pull up a clip of Snuffles the dog. Nick thought it was funny so he left it in. So deal with it.

Hanna-Barbera struck gold with their second ever cartoon, The Huckleberry Hound Show. More importantly, out of Huckleberry Hound, we got Yogi Bear. Listen to learn about these cartoons, as well as parasitic worms, Saturday morning cartoons, and more!

Welcome to Limited Cel – A generational Hanna-Barbera cartoon review show! Hanna-Barbera had to start somewhere, and so do we. Just because it was the first cartoon they did doesn’t mean it was any good. Likewise with this podcast, am I right? Oh, and happy birthday to Nick.
