In this gentle retelling of The Tortoise and the Hare, children are invited to reflect on confidence, patience, and perseverance before the story even begins. Through lively storytelling and a thoughtful opening question, this classic fable comes alive in a way that encourages kids to think about their own strengths. Young listeners will discover that steady effort, humility, and believing in themselves can carry them farther than rushing ahead.
Perfect for sparking conversation about sportsmanship, sibling dynamics, and the value of persistence.
This cozy winter birthday story features Ezra and the Wild Kratts on a magical January adventure. Along the way, children hear gentle themes of teamwork, kindness, bravery, and asking for help when things feel hard. With soft suspense, familiar characters, and a happy ending, it’s designed to spark imagination while offering reassurance—perfect for car rides, quiet time, or winding down together.
A December Story: A shy girl, a giant lantern, and a darkened magical tree collide in this warm story about courage, kindness, and warmth from the heart.
Wonder Storytime for Kids, A Fun Read-aloud Story Podcast for Children, brings imaginative tales, folktales, and original stories to young listeners. Hosted by Linda Cohen, a reading specialist, the show helps kids build early literacy through listening and visualization. There will be new vocabulary and a focus on messages and themes from the story. New episodes monthly, perfect for car rides, screen-free quiet times like in waiting rooms, and classrooms. Keywords: children’s stories, storytime for kids, bedtime tales, fables children’s read-aloud, kids stories.
Linda Cohen’s goal is to spark curiosity, nurture a love of stories, and create meaningful moments you can share with your child.
Because these stories are told aloud, there are no pictures—and that’s intentional. Listening without visuals encourages children to develop one of the most important early literacy skills: visualizing. As they listen, they learn to turn words into mental images. In a sense, your child becomes the “director” of their own story experience, building a personal movie in their mind.
This kind of active listening strengthens comprehension, attention, creativity, and imagination. It may take practice, but it’s a joyful and valuable skill—and I’ll guide them along the way. Encourage your child to listen for details, ask questions, and share the pictures they imagined.
Thank you for joining Linda Cohen on this storytelling journey.
A new episode will be available each month!

The tale follows a modest blue engine that agrees to pull a train of toys over a mountain after stronger, larger engines decline. Its steady refrain—“I think I can”—underscores the book’s enduring message about resilience, optimism, and the quiet power of perseverance.
