Mom and pastor, Jerushah Tanner describes how her son’s difficulties with reading began to crop up as early as first grade. Like many parents, Jerushah was told he would likely catch up eventually. Lucky for him, she was unwilling to wait and see.

Mark Chandler talks about meeting the language and literacy needs of the Gallup-McKinley School District’s primarily Native American student population. A long-term partnership with Lindamood-Bell for Schools included program workshops and job-embedded professional development for hundreds of teachers—who would go on to make a difference for thousands of students.

Dr. Hendren shares his expertise about autism, including the latest in treatments. In addition to his current work as Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Dr. Hendren was Executive Director at the University of California, Davis M.I.N.D. Institute for many years, and was President of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He has published over 100 scientific papers and 5 books and has been listed in “The Best Doctors in America”, each year since it was first published in 1996.

Dinah, an educator in Melbourne, Australia, talks about her outgoing and bright daughter who was struggling with dyslexia when she came to Lindamood-Bell.

Ray Waterhouse is a successful rancher and law school graduate. He joins us from Sydney, Australia to give us his inspiring take on growing up with dyslexia.

Melissa Busolo is a literacy coach for a consortium of schools in rural Colorado. She provides her coaching in a very modern way, using technology to appear in the classroom from her home office over one thousand miles away. She describes the challenges and rewards of implementing consistent reading instruction in a rural setting.

Cathey Ford works at Fort Smith Public School District in Arkansas managing professional development for all teachers. The district's current dyslexia initiative aims to address the needs of dyslexic students and provide a solid foundation for all early learners. She talks about their specific efforts—which have already resulted in increased reading scores for a large number of students.
