  • Studying to Learn

In this solo episode of Linda's Life Lessons, Linda explains that many students get to college with the wrong idea of what learning is and how that keeps them from being successful.

She details how your study habits can drag your grade down over the semester, frustrate you and cause test anxiety.

She then lays the foundation on how to change your study habits and approach to learning so that it doesn't involve cramming or memorization or any of the frustration and anxiety that comes with it.

She discusses how to move away from just being familiar with concepts and how to get to problem solving and critical thinking, the #1 thing employers tell professors they want more of in students.

She makes the case for why you don't need to study harder, you just needs to apply yourself to the right things.

Call to Action: In this episode, Linda asks you think about your approach to learning and be open to making some changes.

    • Linda's Life Lessons-Trailer

Linda’s Life Lessons is a podcast for college students – and maybe their parents. I’ve been teaching college since 2008. I’ve taught classes in many business disciplines, including accounting, business communications, economics, finance, management, and marketing. There are many questions and situations that arise no matter what class I’m teaching. This is what I talk about in the Linda’s Life Lessons podcast, in addition to providing tips and help for life after college as they begin their professional career. I bring the conversations I’ve had with my students to this podcast. Basically, if my students come to me with questions and concerns, I’ll probably talk about it in class at some point, and now I’m bringing it to the podcast. Past students have come back to me to share how much these conversations – which they named “Linda’s Life Lessons” – meant to them and they tell me they miss those conversations, which is what inspired me to start this podcast.
