Paul and Tab open this week’s show with their drive around the league. Which teams will be buyers or sellers? And will the Cubs ever win another game? 

The guys then dig into the box and let Trevor Bauer and the Dodgers know how they feel about the scandal in Los Angeles. How did the Dodgers handle the situation? They should have done better. Bauer’s absence will have an impact on the Dodgers but the organization’s handling of the situation should have an impact on their fans. 

We’re excited for Shohei Ohtani to take part in the Home Run Derby in Denver. And start as the DH for the American League in the All-Star Game. And pitch in the game. Ohtani has become must-see television. He’s become more than a generational athlete – he’s doing things we have never seen before and may never see again. 

Then the guys turned their attention to the MLB Draft. Not the 2021 Draft, which begins on Sunday. But the tenth anniversary of the 2011 Draft class that will soon become a $2 billion class. Billion with a capital B. Was that the best draft ever? It’s certainly the richest! 

Finally, Tab offered his Fantasy Add of the Week. Who is this week’s pick to click? Listen to find out!

Paul and Tab open this week’s show talking about the night’s big knock-out Game 3 in the College World Series. Who ya got: Vanderbilt or Mississippi State? 

The boys then take a lap around the big leagues with their news and notes. Kyle Schwarber is doing some ridiculous things in Washington, breaking records for home runs in a month. And with the news that the All-Star Futures Game rosters were announced on Wednesday the guys talked about the excitement of seeing Yankees top prospect Jasson Dominguez in the game with two professional games under his belt (thus far). 

A new exhibit at the Smithsonian Museum of American History has both Paul and Tab excited. Tab had the opportunity to help start a national collecting initiative that led to the ¡Pleibol! In the Barrios and the Big Leagues / En los barrios y las grandes ligas exhibit which opens in July in Washington D.C. It’s a marvelous opportunity to explore the place baseball plays in Latino culture around the country. If you’re able to check it out we highly recommend it! 

This week’s The Good focused on Baltimore’s Trey Mancini being part of the Home Run Derby. As a cancer survivor himself, Paul joined Tab in rooting for Mancini, who was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer and missed the 2020 season. But, after undergoing treatment, he has returned and was an excellent invite for the Derby this year. 

The Bad this week was injuries impacting the American League Central. Josh Naylor’s injury over the weekend was gruesome and is the latest in a long list of hurt players in the division. Who will be left standing when the division needs a winner in September? 

Finally, our Fantasy Add of the Week was from the Boston Red Sox. Hunter Renfroe could help you if injuries are plaguing your roster. Give him a look!

Paul and Tab open this week’s show digging in with a discussion of the debacle that pitchers being

checked for substances has become. From Max Scherzer and Sergio Romo getting the TSA treatment to

coaches and managers having words, it’s been a rough start to the new policy across Major League

Baseball.

The guys then took a trip around the bases, sharing their excitement about Shohei Ohtani committing to

take part in the Home Run Derby in Denver and him being one of the leaders on the updated All-Star

Game voting. They also went in on Byron Buxton’s bad luck, Javier Baez getting the shower early after a

mental mistake and the College World Series action.

This week’s The Good highlighted the major league debut of the No. 1 prospect in the game: Wander

Franco of the Tampa Bay Rays. Franco hit a huge home run and added a double in an impressive first big

league game. How long can he make it look this easy? And what impact does his promotion have on the

American League East race?

This week’s WTF went hard at the Arizona Diamondbacks, who appear to have quit on the 2021 season.

They snapped a 17-game losing streak earlier this week but have won four games since May 11 and

appear to be ready to sell. When will they put players on the market? And how many moves do they

have to make to right the ship when morale is this bad?

Finally, our Fantasy Add of the Week was from the San Francisco Giants. Stephen Dugger could help you

if injuries are plaguing your roster. Give him a look!
