Nuthin' But Baseball! Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.
Part of the Revolver Podcast network.
What a day for baseball fans! This week’s show drops on the day four legends rightfully find their way
into the gallery of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY.
Tab and Paul started the show focused on the present, but the Hall of Fame kept coming up. Wander
Franco broke Mickey Mantle’s record for consecutive games on base before his 21 st birthday, reaching
for the 37 th straight game on Tuesday. He’s been brilliant at only 20 years old. On the other side of the
coin, the reigning NL Rookie of the Month and NL Player of the week Frank Schwindel has been great for
the Cubs as they rolled off a 7-game win streak of their own.
On the day that Albert Pujols plays what might be his final game in St. Louis against Yadier Molina, the
gold standard for Cardinals’ catchers – Ted Simmons – will finally get his rightful place in the Hall of
Fame. And just two days after Labor Day, the founding executive director of the MLBPA Marvin Miller
will finally get his place in Cooperstown as well. Both seem perfectly fitting.
And on opposite ends of the voting spectrum, Larry Walker and Derek Jeter will be the two players
inducted on Wednesday. Walker, the second Canadian-born player to be voted into the Hall, joins
Ferguson Jenkins as the pride of his home country. He was voted in on his tenth and final ballot. Jeter,
The Captain, spent 20 years with the Yankees and defined winning for a generation.
The guys close out the show with this week’s LDR Fantasy Add of the Week. Need help? They’ve got you
covered again this week!
