Link To The Cast

Why aye man it's time for another installment of a Link to the Cast.

*Dave is deep down the Stardew well.

*Mark has conquered Mr. King Dice.

*Activision continue with business practices that are not very popular.

*EA continue with business practices that are not very popular.

*Bethesda are running away with marketing campaign of the year.

And finally, this week we take a trip back to the PS2, as we get all goth with one of gaming's most spectacular (and twattish) protagonists, as well look at the hack 'n slash classic, Devil May Cry.

Come one come all and enjoy this week's Link to the Cast, the last recorded document before the dreaded MAN FLU took LTTC HQ captive. On the show this week:

*Shadow of More-dor: Dave shares some of his thoughts on Monolith's anticipated sequel (you can obtain the rest of his thoughts in one of a number of limited edition gold loot boxes on the LTTC marketplace)

*Cuphead has battered Mark, but he remains no more or less broken

*A nightmarish Mario music video

*PES partners with Arsenal. Cool, I guess...

Our book club charts an early Sega attempt to create their own Mario, but with an outrageous difficulty curve. And bikes. It's Alex Kidd in Miracle World!

WE BE FEASTIN'. Link to the Cast is back like the old West with a somewhat Western themed show, as not only do we give our immediate reactions in the wake of the new Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer, but we have a book club that gushes over the original Red Dead Redemption, one of our favourite games of all time.

But that is not all friends:

*Dave has his review of FIFA18 after his first few days with it, including a Kermodian review of the thespian chops of Cristiano Ronaldo.

*Samus is back. On the wrong console, but she is back nonetheless!

*Job losses at Volition and The Chinese Room

*An announcement about Shadow of War that isn't the worst.

Listen as we falcon punch our way to your hearts with another slice of LTTC.

*The new Kingsman film is pretty good.

*Mark cannot understand how Kingdom Battle exists, but it is also pretty good.

*Could we finally see a good video game movie not called Mortal Kombat?

*DOOM ON NINTENDO SWITCH.

*Randy Pitchford continues to be dumb.

Finally, for this week's installment of the book club we head back to early days of the SNES and treat ourselves to some of that Mode 7, as we discuss the trend setter for the futuristic speed racer genre, F-Zero.

Full steam ahead for a new episode of Link to the Cast where, in spite of no huge news stories, we manage to find nonsense to discuss anyway! On the show this week:

*Madden's story mode is unreasonably good for a Madden story mode.

*Eurogamer invites us to reflect on the difficulty of developing sports games

*Warner Bros Interactive accused of profiting from a man's death

*Street Fighter 2 returns to SNES cartridges with the addition of actual fire.

Our book club this week is a very Mark Robinson games, and one of the cornerstones of last gen's retro-renaissance, Shovel Knight.
