Link To The Cast

No more press conferences please!

LTTC returns a day early with a complete breakdown of the highs and lows of E3 2017, including answers to the burning questions:

The XBox One X costs HOW MUCH?

Wtf is this new Mario game?

How many cyborgs did we spot at the EA presser?

Will Dave become a recluse after October 27?

Dave is away on holiday next week, so Mark will be taking over the good ship podcast next week. He is under strict instructions not to let everyone stay up too late.

Has it already been a year? Link to the Cast is back for Nerd Christmas hype!

Before all that though, Dave has a review of his visit to new Dublin arcade/restaurant TOKEN, and the lads have a glowing review of Wonder Woman.

In our main event of the week, the lads preview the relentless hype train that is E32017*. We break down each conference, with Dave and Mark giving a range of predictions on each- some safe, some batshit insane (ahem, Mark). Join us next week for our E3 Post Mortem.

Welcome back to Link to the Cast's occasional pro wrestling podcast, The Grap Up!

On a jam packed show, we have a lot to discuss:

In the first half of the show (recorded last week), Dave, Mark and Jack break down an excellent NXT Takeover, a not so excellent Backlash, and some other stuff that has happened since our last show. We finish off that part of the show with a quick round of predictions before Dave and Jack headed off to attend PROGRESS' Super Strong Style 16 2017 tournament.

In the second part of the show, Dave and Jack sit down and review the whole weekend's action from the Electric Ballroom- the best matches, the top performers, the most creative chants (there were many), it's all in there!

Your regular programming will resume next week with our third annual E3 preview spectacular, but in the meantime, enjoy!

In the summertime, when the weather is hot, Link to the Cast is back with a new episode. On this week's show:

*Puyo Puyo Tetris is GREAT

*GTA V continues to sell well nearly four years on

*Job losses at IO Interactive as company restructures.

*Red Dead Redemption 2 delayed.

In the book club this week, we talk about a game that may not be many people's favourite but for reasons we delve into, is a hugely significant game for Dave personally and for the subsequent history of gaming, Commander Keen in Invasion of the Vorticons

[Though we make mention of it on the podcast, myself and Mark are at a loss to find the words to express our feelings regarding the tragic events in Manchester earlier in the week. Our hearts ache for the people and city of Manchester, a place we both hold so dear. Our love goes out to the city that we know will not be cowed by the acts of cowards and monsters that do not represent Manchester or its people. We love you Manchester, stay strong <3]

Link to the Cast is back again with a bumper edition of the show.

For the first part of the show we are talking game jams and all things indie as we are joined by writer, gamer, and co-creator of indiegamejams.com the wonderful Jupiter Hadley!

[Editor's note: Dave had some serious technical difficulties about half way through the segment, apologies for that]

After that segment, Dave and Mark discuss:

Our lukewarm takes on Eurovision 2017

Dave's thoughts so far on Prey

Square Enix dumping IO Interactive and the future of Hitman

It's all coming up Milhouse for Nintendo Switch

Our Book Club this week takes a walk down memory lane to one of the games responsible for the explosion of the Indie scene in the late 00's, Jonathan Blow's Braid.

You can follow Jupiter on Twitter over at @Jupiter_Hadley, her youtube channel where she frequently spotlights cool indie stuff is https://www.youtube.com/user/JupCraftGaming , and if you can spare some money to support much needed work in this area of games coverage, support her Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/Jupiter_Hadley

It's Link to the Cast, one of your five a day!* (*Doctor's note- may not be true)

On the show this week:

*A mostly spoiler-free review of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (some very loose details on the opening 15 mins or so)

*Mario Kart- it's pretty good.

*Will CoD WWII cause massive problems for Youtubers?

*Our book club this week takes an interesting look at Platinum Games' Bayonetta, the first game in some time for the Book Club on which Dave and Mark disagree.

- Mark talks about his time with Axiom Verge

- What exactly does remain of Edith Finch?

- Diversity is not an old wooden ship

- Night Trap is getting a rerelease... huh

For our book club this week, we take it back to Game Boy Advance, as we look at one of the key games for that platform, the slightly more approachable side of turn-based combat, Advance Wars.

Instead of just your usual Giant Sized annual, we here at Link to the Cast have decided to listen to some listener suggestions, and do a very occasional podcast about professional wrestling, where we check in every few months to see how things stand with the graps, so with that said welcome to the first official episode of the Grap Up!

Mark couldn't make it to the show this week, but Dave is joined by friends of the show Barry Murphy ( @TheBarrylad ) and Jack Layzell ( @JackLayzell ) to run down and review all things Wrestlemania week!

*Highlights from the indies

*Dean Ambrose stealing the show at the Hall of Fame

*A surprisingly good NXT Takeover

*A pretty good Wrestlemania

*The aftermath & The SUPERSTAR SHAKEUP/SHAKEDOWN/MILKSHAKE/SHAKE&BAKE

Your regular programming will resume with a normal LTTC posting tomorrow, but in the meantime, enjoy!
