    Tatty Macleod is a British-French comedian who grew up in France to British parents. She makes hilarious online content about her life across two cultures to over 378'000 followers on Instagram and 210'000 on TikTok. Her short sketches are as astute as they are funny, often delving beyond the stereotypes and playing multiple characters. Her stand-up comedy show 'Fugue' sold out at Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year and now she'll bring he stand-up to Geneva on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 January 2025.   • Ukranian acapella sextet Mansound

    Internationally-renowned Ukrainian a cappella sextet, ManSound, is bringing its spirited vocal versatility to Suisse Romande. They will perform the music that has brought them wide acclaim at jazz concerts in the United States and across Europe.

    ManSound has taken part in more than 50 jazz festivals, performed three times at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in the United States, and in over 25 countries. The All American Entertainment Awards nominated ManSound as best vocal group in 2001. In 2002 ManSound won the First

    Prize at the international competition for a cappella groups Vokal Total.

  • World Press Photo - at the Château de Prangins

    World Press Photo is a collection of press photographs that tell the story of the most pressing news from last year, including sport and current events, told through images. The subjects range from refugee tragedies and natural disasters to the joint international effort to save the monarch butterfly from extinction. The exhibition is a look back at the global events of 2023 and allows the viewer to take a step back from the fast-moving news cycle, consider world events from a fresh perspective, and critically reflect on them.

    What is now 130 photographs that make up the exhibition, started as 61'000 photos submitted by over 3'800 photographers. This exhibition shows the winning selection. The exhibit is on display at the Château de Prangins until 5 January 2025. Entry is just CHF 13, kids up to 16 go free. 

    Swiss Press Photo is also on at the Château de Prangins now until 2 February 2025. 

    Mariana Rettore Baptista is the Exhibition Manager and Curator at World Press Photo. She joined us on the Breakfast Show to talk about the selection and some of her personal highlights from the exhibit. She spoke to WRS' Katt Cullen...

  • GAOS are gearing up for Aladdin

    It's pantomime time already! 

    Oh no it isn't!
    Oh yes it is!

    Tickets are selling well for the upcoming GAOS pantomime ALADDIN, that will be performed at the Theatre des Marens 6-8 December & 12-15 December. 

    In this year's panto, Abanazar, an evil magician, has discovered the secret to becoming Master of the Universe. All he needs is an enchanted oil lamp hidden away for many years in a lost cave of treasures but only the 'chosen one' is allowed to set foot inside.

    Meanwhile in the distant land of Marrakech, young Aladdin lives with his brother Wishee Washee and his man-hungry mother, Widow Twankey. Aladdin dreams of marrying the beautiful Princess Jasmine but a penniless laundry boy could never hope to have the love of a royal but... could he be the chosen one?

  • What were the factors that led to Trump's win?

    Before the US presidential election, we spoke to John Antonakis who’s a Professor of Organizational Behaviour at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Lausanne.

    He and his team had come up with a model that predicted a Trump victory when many of the polls were unclear. 

    He and his model, has been proved right – which is annoying as Mark had bet against him and so had to buy him a pizza – but before claiming his prize, he came into the studio and Mark asked him, how did he get it right when so many were either wrong or unclear?

    These schools are often options for parents who may travel for work. They provide an element of stability for the child’s education. 

    Mark Butcher spoke to Will Petty from the educational consultants Bonas MacFarlane who’s organising the show and asked him, is it that promise of stability that attracts most parents?

  • TITANIC – The Exhibition - currently on in Lausanne

    On April 10, 1912, the RMS Titanic set out on her maiden voyage from Southampton, England. The most luxurious and modern ship of the time, the Titanic collided with an iceberg on April 14, 1912 at 11:40 a.m. and sank 2 hours and 40 minutes later on April 15, with the loss of nearly 1,500 lives. More than a century later, Lausanne commemorates this tragedy, which still resonates in the collective memory today, by presenting “TITANIC – The Exhibition” covering more than 2000m2.

    The exhibition features more than 200 authentic objects recovered from the wreck during dives conducted by Ifremer, the French research institute dedicated to knowledge of the ocean, and Paul-Henri Nargeolet, director of underwater research for RMS Titanic , Inc.

    This educational and family-friendly exhibition tells the powerful stories of the men and women who were aboard the legendary RMS Titanic, told through more than 200 moving artefacts and numerous recreations of the ship's cabins and iconic locations.
