Corbaal are a electro duo based in Pays de Gex in neighbouring France. They are Mic Stroudinski, and Lola Bastard. Joining them is jazz trumpet virtuoso Erik Truffaz and together they form the unexpectedly harmonious project Corbaal x Truffaz. Does jazz trumpet and electro music mix? Honestly, we had our doubts at first, but in the most delightful trist of fate, it really does. A big, surprise YES.
The trio Corbaal x Truffaz will be gracing the stage on 27 March at the brand new Salle de Creux in Thoiry, in neighbouring France. On this morning's Breakfast Show, we speak with World Ironman Champion and Elite Athlete Loubna Freih, who is embarking on an incredible adventure to cross the Alps from Vienna to Monaco. The project is called ALPINE QUEST.
Starting March 1st, Loubna will be joined by mountain guide and close friend, Mélanie Corthay, as well as other elite female athletes who will join them at different stages of the journey. Together, they’ll cover nearly 2000km, traversing 65 glaciers and gaining 80,000 meters of elevation.
The route will include cycling, ski mountaineering, and running through Austria, Italy, Switzerland, and France before finally reaching Monaco on or around May 1st.
Loubna and Mélanie will be the only ones completing the entire course, which is expected to take around 60 days. Along the way, they’ll be joined by a stellar group of all-female athletes, including Gran Fondo cyclist Nathalie Monnier, ski mountaineering champion Laetitia Roux, and trail runners Maude Mathys and Emily Vaudan. This remarkable feat will be documented by director Aurélie Morrison for a documentary and followed closely by students in four schools across Switzerland, France and Monaco, creating an inspiring connection to the journey.

Christian Hadjipateras is raising awareness for those who, like himself, were born with facial differences, with a particular emphasis on the psychological impact it can have. Having been born with complex craniofacial anomalies, he underwent multiple reconstructive surgeries in the UK, US and France up until his mid-twenties. He began writing about his experiences at a young age and, in more recent years, he's delved into speaking more publicly about them; in the UK, Greece and Switzerland. He is also an ambassador for Smile Train; the world’s largest cleft focused charity.
Since moving to Switzerland with his wife in 2022, he has been determined to raise awareness here. He joins Katt Cullen on the WRS Breakfast Show.
