I wish I'd know before buying-
Let me start by saying: I'm a cheesecake baker and I haven't tried any of these recipes. I downloaded this cookbook in hopes of expanding my list of favorites and some of the recipes sound tempting.
I'm put off, however, by the way the recipes are written. I find it cumbersome to read measurements typed out as words, rather than fractions (A quarter of a tsp. of salt, for example, rather than 1/4 tsp.).
I'd be willing to try to overcome my hesitation with that, except that some of the ingredients start with "and", as if there is a measurement missing in front of the listed item (and a half cup of toasted macadamia nuts-location 290 on my kindle, and a quarter cup half and half-location 678).
I also question the package size she's referring to for cream cheese. I've made a lot of cheesecake and have a hard time imagining how you'd fit 7 (8 oz) packages of cream cheese, with all the other ingredients, into a 10-inch springform pan (location 85). Maybe she's using the 3-ounce packages I've seen listed in other recipes (but never notice at my store) but, if so, a clarification is in order. In fairness, I could be mistaken, too, as I didn't try the recipe. Maybe that isn't as much as it sounds like to me.
I may attempt a couple of these recipes but decided to leave a review detailing the issues I found when perusing the book, as I appreciate a heads up from reviewers before buying a book.
