Don't waste your $$$

The premise of hearing real life stories of other peoples' legacy successes and failures made me think this would be worthwhile. The writing is poor, at best; the stories are not compelling. So here's the whole book in a nutshell: Don't procrastinate, get your legacy papers in order.

This book is "must" reading for those who are dismayed ...

This book is "must" reading for those who are dismayed at the bizarre behaviors of many family members when a parent dies. I honestly didn't "get" those behaviors and confronted certain family members who I felt did not adequately respect a deceased parent's directives. That was not the most constructive solution. Now I understand how childhood experiences and greed can affect some family members. This book is valuable because it is written by a nurse who has specialized in end of life issues and knows her subject well. Don't expect a book of solutions but a book that raises your awareness.

This book will get you planning!

This short, easy-to-read book details a "How-to" approach to end of life planning.

Stephanie Payne attempts to guide you through this challenging process. She uses simply-told stories based on her years of experience as a hospice nurse. She tells of families who've suffered (and a few exemplary folks who've successfully navigated) through both the predictable events and the vagaries of the last phases of life.

Many lessons are reinforced with her stories; lessons like the importance of planning when you're still healthy, understanding that families can be strengthened by forethought about your death and dying, and the importance of providing a list of mementos to pass onto relatives and friends. At the end of the book she not only provides a checklist of what needs to be put in place, but also lists the pertinent questions to ask your attorney.

Perhaps her most important advice is: the time to plan is NOW.

If you want to be a Godly husband and father..READ this book!

This is going to sound clichéd, but this is a must read if you are looking for a blueprint on how to be a Godly husband and father. The book is extremely challenging and convicting and will lay out a very clear vision on how to not only be the leader/head of your family, but how to do it in a God honoring way. The book is not only full of practical stories and examples, but is also biblically sound. I can personally attest to how following this blueprint of being your family's prophet, priest, provider and protector will change the dynamics of your family and you will see fruit (i.e. leading family devotionals, how to earnestly pray for your wife and children, how important quality and quantity time is, etc..). I've used this book during a men's bible study and we have each found it extremely worthwhile. Men, I challenge you to read this book!

A Faithful Man is so readable! Never becoming bogged down in complicated doctrinal schemes, the reader emerges from this book with a delicious entre of sound doctrine and a savory side of practical application. Without condemning the reader, Mark Fox leads the way - creating in us a desire to follow. He offers warm encouragement derived from personal illustrations - stories with which we can all identify. I read this book in two sittings, and loved every page.

Worst narration I've ever experienced!!!

Did Ms. Meadows bother to sound out difficult words before getting in front of the mic? NO! Breathing in the middle of sentences and no comprehension of the material is obvious. As for the books content, only a few paragraphs were devoted to the Maine Coon breed--which is why I bought a book about Maine Coons. The balance of the material was basic generalized cat info --and not very well or completely presented. A total waste of time!

What would have made Understanding Your Maine Coon Cat's Behavior better?

Some information about Maine Coon Cat's behavior. You know, like the title says. In an hour and fifteen minute audiobook, less than three minutes were spent talking about anything specific about Maine Coon Cats. The rest was filled with general grooming tips, training tips, and such.

I own a Maine Coon Cat. They are certainly a unique breed with many fascinating and endearing personality traits..., at least mine is. I wanted to learn more about why she behaves more like a puppy than a cat. Scoops her food out of her dish onto the floor when she thinks the food level is too low. Why she craves attention, yet hates to be held. Stuff like that that other Coon Cat owners and I wonder about.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The recording was disappointingly comparable to a girl reading a book into a cassette recorder in her kitchen.

I would not buy this book.

Unfortunately, I learned nothing from this book. The only information about Manx cats or kittens is in the first chapter, and it's the general history of the breed that you'll see in wikipedia or when you google Manx on line. The rest is general knowledge about caring for cats and is not specific to Manx. The book seriously needs an editor and proof reader.

I found only 1 page talking about the Manx kitten...what a waste of money on this book...thumbs down..

I would not buy this book ..it does not talk about what the cover states...very bad book...better off buying a older Manx book...being only 1 page talked about the Manx Kitten sucked...the rest was blah!!
